Frisson Collonges showed exciting improvement to finish second in the four-year-old geldings' maiden at Inch, having made his debut at Ballynoe back in March. The Donnchadh Doyle-trained gelding made a bold bid from the front before being headed two from home under James Walsh. To his credit the French-bred son of Coastal Path stayed on well from the back of the last to get within two-and-a-half lengths of the eventual winner at the line. Having cost €75,000 as a store, the bay is out of a five-time winner who is a half-sister to the two-time winner Corentin Collonges. This likable type is a progressive sort who could well develop into a decent prospect for new connections in the future.
