Flying Garry shaped with plenty of promise when finished second in a four-year-old maiden at Durrow at the end of March. The son of Ballingarry was only having his second start here and the grey appeared to relish the front-running tactics employed on this occasion. Ridden by Johnny Barry the son of Ballingarry jumped well throughout and had much of the field under pressure turning-in. Shane Hassett’s charge still held every chance at the penultimate obstacle before tiring a little late in the day. This can be easily excused, as the four-year-old lost little in defeat here and is certainly a progressive sort for the future.
