The Cormac Doyle-trained Bobhopeornohope made his only start a winning one when taking the four-year-old maiden at Dromahane. The son of Westerner bounced out and made much of the running in the hands of Shane O’Rourke jumping well in the main. However the bay was somewhat hindered by deliberate jumps at the final two fences, handing the initiative to the runner-up. Perhaps the most likable aspect of this performance was the attitude displayed by this debutant as the four-year-old battled gamely to the line, ultimately winning going away. This was certainly a notable performance on testing ground conditions and this gelding looks a classy sort in the making.
