The Paul Cashman-trained Castle Robin was desperately unlucky to slip up when holding the advantage on the run to the final fence in the four-year-old maiden at Rathcannon, unseating his rider in the process. The son Robin Des Champs led the field at a good gallop for much of the contest, jumping well throughout. The chestnut was staying on readily from the penultimate obstacle when he lost his footing on the woodchip road crossing, stumbling badly and unseating his rider. The eventual winner received a rating of 90+ and was second in his only previous start. None the worse for the mishap and clearly a very talented type, this twice raced gelding can surely progress to a high level inside the rails.
