The David O'Brien-trained Pull Green put in a good performance at the second time of asking to finish third in the first division of the four-year-old maiden at Courtown. The son of Califet, who had an educational run at Knockanard on his debut, picked up the running two from home here before quickening clear on the run to the final fence. A mistake over the last did the €6,500 store no favours here, before he tired in the closing stages to finish just one-and-a-quarter lengths behind the winner. This first foal is clearly an improving type and could well develop into a progressive sort on the track for his new connections.
