The Cormac Doyle-trained Coconut Spash made his only start a winning one when taking the four-year-old maiden at Castletown by four lengths. The son of Stowaway was given a patient ride by Roger Quinlan, in a contest which was run at an end to end gallop. The winner caught the eye travelling smoothly into the contest down along the back. From here this sharp looking sort readily quickened clear with the eventual runner up before a slick jump at the final fence put the race to bed. This likable prospect is certainly not short of pace and could well make a big impact under rules for new connections.
