Having had the experience of a run at Borris in February on very testing conditions, the Michael Goff-trained Cheer’s Delboy made considerable improvement on his next outing at Curraghmore where he was narrowly defeated by a neck to the well-bred Peterborough. Having tracked the leader throughout, the Shane Fitzgerald-ridden gelding produced a challenge to the eventual winner at the final fence where he battled hard to the line to just fall short at the finish. There were plenty of positives to take from his latest effort and with this initial experience under his belt, he is likely to turn into a fine sort in due course.
