Shocona’s Joy made a very promising debut at Moig South when finishing second to Legends Gold in a competitive four-year-old maiden. The daughter of Primary was on the heels of the leaders for much of the race and stayed on well in the home straight where she went on to take the runner-up spot after the final fence behind the impressive winner. This was Shocona’s Joy’s second start between the flags having finished a creditable fourth behind The Glancing Queen at Horse and Jockey on her debut two weeks previous. Shocona’s Joy is a half-sister to the recent hurdle winner, Henry’s Joy and is also from the family of the Group three placed Hajade. Having shown good progression from her debut effort, Shocona’s Joy looks the sort that will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard in mares’ races over the coming seasons.
