The Real Jet was one of the latest winning off-spring from the first crop of exciting young stallion Jet Away when she stepped up from finishing a close third at Borris House in late November to win on her next outing at Moig South three weeks later. Showing great versatility in terms of her ability to act on contrasting surfaces, she raced prominently throughout in the deep ground at the Co. Limerick venue. Clocking the day’s quickest time, one that was four seconds quicker than the winner of the geldings’ equivalent, who himself has gone on to win a Fairyhouse bumper in good style by four and a half lengths, she was one of two mares to pull clear turning in and she really had to prove her toughness as the ground conditions combined with the uphill climb for the line combined to ensure that any frailties would certainly have been exposed here. Outbattling a similarly once previously raced mare that is a close relation of Our Vic and Siegemaster she came through that test well to win by two and-a-half lengths.
