Dads Lad made a very eye-catching debut when placed 2nd in the INH Flat Race at Clonmel on 5 September for trainer Mrs Olivia Byrne. Held up off the pace travelling well he had a fair bit to do turning in but stayed on in very taking fashion to the line shaping with significant promise.] He showed the benefit of that initial outing and proved it was no fluke when placed 3rd in the competitive NH Flat Race at Navan on 28 September. A fine big horse he looks a lovely prospect going forward over obstacles.
