Railway Hurricane provided Con McSweeney with his first four-year-old maiden winner as a handler, when he made a winning debut at Lisronagh last Saturday. The son of Perugino did not go unsupported in the market ahead of his introduction to competitive action, which could not have gone better, as having been waited with in mid-division, Darragh Allen began to bring him closer along the side the course. Two good leaps along this section of the track saw him gain lengths on each occasion, with a wall of horses in front of him, preventing him from immediately getting through. However it was around the home bend that he began to go by rivals in quite swift fashion, to ensure that he was in the third at the second-last. Bursting through quite soon afterwards, his superior speed saw him wrap up the race running to the last, where his only slow leap of the race, was the only factor which prevented him from winning by further than the three-length winning margin.
