The Richard Black-trained Mammoth put in a fine performance to finish second in the five-year-old and upwards mares’ maiden at Inchydoney under Luke Murphy on her debut. In contention up until the second last, the bay mare couldn't quite quicken at the same rate as the eventual winner, but to her credit, stayed on well up to the line, losing little in defeat. Out of a half-sister to three-time Grade 2 winner Champion Court, Mammoth should improve for the experience and could well develop into a decent prospect on the track for new connections moving forward.
