Oscer Romero finished a close second on his latest start in the first division of the four-year-old maiden at Tralee for handler Mic Goff. The son of Court Cave was running a solid race when coming to grief at the final fence at Broughshane on his previous start and certainly showed no ill effects here having only got touched off in the closing stages. Ridden by Shane Fitzgerald, €32,000 store was up on the pace throughout and had much in the field in trouble when hitting the front turning in. Having jumped the final fence in front, the bay only got collared close home certainly losing very little in defeat. This smart looking type could well progress into a decent sort on the track proper in the future.
