The Mathew Flynn O’Connor – trained Skylanna Breeze has run some fine races in defeat in four-year-old maidens this term. The son of Primary finished a fine third on just his second start when only beaten four lengths under Barry Walsh at Courtown, before bay improved from that effort to finish a good second to a very smart sort in a four-year-old maiden at Quakerstown. Having been given a positive ride, the promising sort held every chance three-out but could just not quite match the winner in the closing stages. However it is worth noting that the winner went on to make €360,000 at the sales and this likable runner-up could well be above average himself.
