The Sam Curling-trained Frisco Bay showed improvement to finish second behind Gabby's Cross in the four-year-old maiden at Monksgrange at the end of April, having had one run previously when finishing fourth at Durrow in a similar contest. Ridden by Pa King, the son of Yeats was always to the fore here and despite not quite being able to match the winner from two-out, the €22,000 store stayed on well in the closing stages of the race to get within four lengths of victory. Out of a half-sister to four-time winner Naranja, this bay looks to be a fine staying type and could well develop into a useful sort under rules in the future.
