Denis Murphy's Alpha Carinae ran out a convincing winner on her debut at Stowlin to take the four-year-old mares’ maiden by five lengths. The daughter of Robin Des Champs made progress from mid division on the wide outside, before securing victory with a good jump over the last in the hands of Jamie Codd. It is worth noting that the mare was going away right up to the line and the winning distance does not quite reflect the impressive nature of this success. Having cost €28,000 as a store, this chestnut looks to have the ideal mix of speed and stamina and a bright future under rules seems inevitable for this good looking mare.
