Shirocco’s Dream ran a cracker on debut when finishing just two lengths behind Rose Of Arcadia, who after that impressive performance was sold for a £170,000 in a four-year-old maiden at Tattersalls Farm in December. Following up from this run, the daughter of Shirocco improved to win on her next start at Borris House at the beginning of March in a competitive five-year-old maiden that featured quite a few horses who had shown promise in the past. She was unsurprisingly sent off at the top of the market and was always prominent, tracking the leaders of the main group. She was able to get up the inside of the pacesetter before the home bend and soon had that rival covered, however, she was forced to battle by the more recently placed Victorias Peak, in a good tussle which saw the pair pull considerably clear of their rivals. The bay mare is out of an own sister to the 169-rated Grade 1 winner Captain Chris and looked above average for the category she contested in. The Donnchadh Doyle-trained mare highlighted herself as a very exciting sort that is bred to develop into a smart type on the track and could have a lot to offer to new connections.
