Amarillo Sky ran out an impressive winner of his four-year-old maiden at Borris House on what was his only start to date. The son of Westerner tracked the leaders for the first half of the contest and was then brought to the head of affairs four fences out, where he looked to settle better. From that point, he produced an electric round of jumping in front and was never headed. The gelding’s jumping was foot-perfect for a newcomer and was of the style of a two-miler, such was his efficiency over his obstacles. Once challenged by the runner-up Tag Man, he was able to keep him at bay on the run-in, where he kept on gamely all the way to the line. The Colin Bowe-trained gelding is a €50,000 sales recruit, that is out of a sister to four-time winner Beg To Differ and looks to be a potential black type candidate over shorter trips, that should progress into a very smart recruit under rules.
