Young Buck posted a very likable performance of his debut to take five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Nenagh. The Shark Hanlon-trained son of Yeats bounced out and made all the running, in a contest which clocked the fastest time of the day. Ridden by Tom Hamilton the five-year-old readily pulled clear from three-out and kept on gamely in the home straight, coming home an easy five length winner, with a further 15-length break back to the third horse. A €36,000 store, this well-bred sort is related to plenty of winners and could well develop into a fine staying prospect under rules.
