Java Point made a winning debut in the four-year-old maiden at Lismore for Colin Bowe. The son of Stowaway was getting off the mark at the second time of asking here, having been desperately unlucky to unseat at the first on his debut at Oldtown in February. Ridden by Luke Murphy on this occasion, the €42,000 Derby Sale graduate was content to track the leaders for much of the contest. Having crept into the race from three-out, the good-looking bay found plenty for pressure in the closing stages to come home 15 lengths in front.. This well-bred sort should develop into a decent prospect under rules for new connections.
