Ard Abhain got off the mark at the first time of asking when taking the five-year-old mares’ maiden at Lingstown. The daughter of Jeremy was settled in mid division by Kevin Corrigan and caught the eye travelling very strongly into the contest. Having raced clear on the run to the final fence, this likable sort showed a very game attitude in the closing stages, battling hard to win by a length and a half. This decent looking prospect can be forgiven for tiring a little on what was her debut and Bernie Murphy’s charge looks open to plenty of improvement. Out of a dual winning mare, this mare could well be very progressive under rules.
