Orbys Legend ran a cracker when second on his debut performance in his four-year-old maiden at Knockmullen House at the beginning of February. The good-looking son of Milan was always prominent and took up the running before the third last. Harley Dunne dug deep on his mount entering the straight, where he was tough and game in front, and despite being challenged at the second last, he was not headed until after the final fence. The winner Brooksway Fair surged forward on the flat after jumping the penultimate fence and eventually got past Orby’s Legend, who finished just two lengths behind in the runner-up spot. A €32,000 store purchase, the four-year-old is out of a half-sister to nine-time track winner Morning Royalty, who has displayed a nice mix of speed and stamina in this contest. Given the attributes he has shown on his debut performance, he will not be waiting long to enter the winners’ enclosure.
