Ballingers Corner made her debut a winning one when taking her five-year-old mares’ maiden at Carrigarostig in January. The daughter of Jeremy was one of five newcomers in this six-runner field and always disputed the running with Caletta Storm until edging ahead on the approach to the last where she then asserted early on the flat to beat runner-up Latino Fling by half-a-length. Her grandam is an own sister to Thisthatandtother. The Paurick O’Connor-trained winner displayed a nice blend of both speed and stamina which highlights her as an exciting sort, who will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard in mares’ races over the coming seasons.
