Brooksway Fair made his debut a winning one when taking his four-year-old maiden at Knockmullen House in February. The son of Mahler benefited from a well-judged ride by Jamie Codd, and when asked he quickened away from the rest of his rivals with Orby’s Legend after the third last. The four-year-old challenged the eventual runner-up at the second last, and dug deep on the run-in to eventually get past Orby’s Legend, to go on and win by two-lengths in very testing conditions. This bay gelding is a full-brother to Mahlervous and his two strongest attributes appear to be staying and jumping. He looks open to plenty of improvement and should progress into a very smart recruit under rules.
