Delgany Monarch has shown plenty of promise on his debut run at Borris House in December when finishing just nine lengths behind the winner in third place. Ridden in mid-division for much of the race, this chestnut gelding made good headway over the final half a mile where he kept on well behind the first two finishers, while also being the first newcomer to finish. The son of Imperial Monarch travelled professionally throughout and is out of a half-sister to three -time track winner Hailstorm and is also a half-brother to Tyrone House, a four-time track winner. Delgany Monarch lost little in defeat which highlights him as a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.
