Muckamore got off the mark at the second time of asking in the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Mainstown, having finished a fine second on his debut at Loughanmore back in October. Ridden by Stephen Connor the son of Sholokhov was given a patient ride, jumping fluently throughout before progressing to the lead before the third-last. The Bay gelding increased the tempo in the closing stages and went on with purpose showing a nice turn of foot to win by an impressive eight lengths over his rivals. The Bay gelding is out of a half-sister to Red Square lady a six-time winning mare and highlighted himself as an exciting youngster that is bred to develop into a smart sort on the track and could have a lot to offer to new connections.
