Noble Yeats could well have made a winning debut within an extra two or three strides at Ballindenisk, as he emerged from the pack and powered home to get touched off by just a neck. Racing in mid-division throughout, the eventual winner crucially got first run on the field exiting out of the back straight as Noble Yeats remained in the fifth position. It was in between the final two fences that he really hit top gear and rapidly began to make inroads into the advantage that Minella Majestic had been able to build up in that decisive move for home. Staying on powerfully up the hill, by the line he was just a neck behind and getting closer with each stride.
