Askinvillar was a recent winner at Kirkistown on what was his second start between the flags. The son of Jeremy ran a creditable race on his debut at Loughanmore back in October where he finished a fine third just eleven lengths behind Jay Bee Why. The bay gelding, who is out of a half-sister to the seven-time track winner Southern Vic bounced out to make all, jumping well at the head of proceedings before quickening up in good style to beat his rivals by a promising six lengths. The Colin Bowe-trained winner displayed a nice blend of both speed and stamina which highlights him as an exciting sort, who will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard.
