Minella Royale ran out a wide margin of the five-year-old geldings’ maiden on his debut at Lingstown for handler John Nallen. The regally bred son of Shirocco, was always to the fore of proceedings and took up the running five fences from home. The five-year-old picked up notably well from three-out, readily opening up an advantage on the run to the last, before going on to win by fifteen lengths. Both the second and the third horses have previous place form, adding plenty of depth to the contest. Having cost €42,000 as a foal, this good-looking sort is from a family of blacktype winners’ and looks to have an exciting future ahead of him under rules.
