Hurling Magic made a very promising debut at Turtulla in mid-November, finishing a fine second to a very promising sort in Shan Blue. From the Pat Doyle academy, this son of Doyen raced in mid division, before travelling very strongly into the contest in the home straight. The four-year-old gave the eventual winner plenty to think about in the closing stages, however his lack of experience showed a little, as he was not quite able to peg back his opponent on the run to the line. Having lost little in defeat here this John Halley-owned gelding looks like he is open to plenty of improvement and will make a very exciting prospect under rules.
