Shishkin is a good-looking son of Sholokhov who made an eye-catching debut at Inch in the spring, when finishing third behind Prince Kayf, in a performance full of promise. Unsurprisingly, given that he is a big striding youngster, he returned a much stronger force following his summer break, by simply outclassing his opposition to get off the mark at just the second time of asking at Lingstown last month. Always racing at the head of affairs, he jumped with great fluency, and produced a striking turn of foot to make his move from the back of the third-last. From that point, he began to stamp his authority on the race, as he returned a wide-margin winner over a previously placed rival, without ever having to be asked a serious question. Hailing from a yard well adept at producing smart horses for the future, he would look to be another that will go on to do them proud.
