Sabbathical made a very promising debut when placed second in the Open Maiden point-to-point at Garthorpe on 24th March for the Tom Ellis yard. The four-year-old son of Sunday Break travelled comfortably in the hands of Gina Ellis and jumped well. He went to the front going down the hill towards three out and only gave best to an elder more experienced rival after the last with the front two pulling 24 lengths clear of the third placed horse. The form has also received a significant boost as the third placed horse is the subsequent winner of his Maiden point-to-point. This was an excellent debut run and he looks sure to keep on improving for new connections.
