The Mick Goff-trained Clondaw Dancer finished a gallant second in the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Curraghmore on his third start. Having shaped with plenty of promise on his debut, the son of Big Bad Bob was running a huge race on his second start when falling at the second last at Moira. Clearly none the worse for this experience, the five-year-old bounced out and made much of the running under his novice rider on this occasion. The bay certainly made a bold bid in front, only giving way on the run to the last, before staying on gamely, only being beaten by three lengths of at the line. Going forward this likable sort should be able to win his share of races under rules.
