Grangeclare Native made his only start a winning one when taking the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Curraghmore at the first time of asking. Ridden by Jamie Codd, the son of Shantou chased the leaders for much of the contest, jumping and travelling notably well throughout. The €45,000 Derby Sale graduate picked up the running after the penultimate obstacle, before quickening away to win in very impressive fashion. It is well worth noting that not only was this contest run at a solid end to end gallop, the third, fourth and fifth placed horse had some solid form to their names adding plenty of depth. This exciting looking prospect appears to have a dangerous combination of both speed and stamina, ensuring the debutant could well be top class under rules.
