Darling Daughter got off the mark at the second time of asking when taking the five-year-old mares’ maiden at Portrush in impressive fashion. The daughter of Presenting ran well for a long way on her debut in four-year-old company back in the Autumn and stepped up on that effort to record an impressive success in what looked a competitive 17-runner maiden. This €30,000 Derby Sale graduate is a nicely bred sort, being out of a black type mare. Trained by Cormac Doyle, the chestnut was given a positive ride by Rob James before readily quickening clear in the home straight to win by widening two lengths. Going forward this looks to be a decent prospect under rules.
