The Shirley Berry-trained Five Star Getaway ran out a comprehensive of the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Courtown at just the second time of asking. The son of Getaway was never too far away from the pace in the hands of Shane O’Rourke, before hitting the front on the run to the third last. From this junction the five-year-old galloped on readily to the line ultimately winning by six lengths. It is worth noting that the third horse here had previously been placed adding some depth to this truly run contest. This likable sort certainly looks like a fine staying chaser in the making.
