Redzor took the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Ballyragget in March on what was his third start between the flags. The son of Shantou had made his initial start at Tinahely in October and followed this run up with a third placed finish at Ballinaboola in February. Stepping up from the experience gained on both starts, the son of Shantou raced in mid-division for much of the race and travelled well on the final mile where he challenged the leader and soon took over the lead to go on and secure a three length victory. Redzor is the first produce out of an unraced half-sister to the Grade one winner One Knight as well as being from the family of Death Duty and Foxrock. Redzor looks to be the type of horse that would have little difficulty in making his mark on the track and further add to this winning family.
