Dessie Deschamps heads to the sales having shown notable improvement in three starts on the pointing circuit. The son of Robin Des Champs made his debut at Tyrella in January where was ridden prominently throughout before exciting the race at the third last fence. His next appearance came at Loughanmore in March in a competitive five-year-old maiden before losing his maiden tag on his latest start at Moira to enjoy a four length success. The Colin McBratney-trained winner was always close to the leaders and lead from the halfway point where he travelled well and held a strong advantage over his rivals from the penultimate obstacle to go away and win comfortably in a race that had some decent placed form on offer. Out of a half-sister to the Grade two placed Dare Me, Dessie Dechamps is also from the family of the high class winners Gaye Chance and Gaye Brief and looks like a horse very much on the upgrade with a career under rules likely to realt return for new connections.
