Prince Kayf made a massive impression when taking his four-year-old maiden at Inch in March. Prominently ridden throughout, the good-looking son of Kayf Tara travelled strongly and progressed to dispute the lead from the fourth last fence. Challenged at the final fence by the fast finishing Kiltealy Briggs, Prince Kayf found plenty under pressure and stayed on strongly to the line to win by a neck for the Joe Ryan yard. Having quickened well between the final two fences it is unsurprising to see that he produced the quickest time of the day which was 13 seconds faster than the day’s average. Out of the high class mare, Annie’s Answer who was also a dual bumper winner, he is also from the family of the smart track performers Basilea and Grand Slam Hero. This eye-catching gelding looks to have an ideal blend of speed and stamina which leads one to suggest that he should prosper at black-type level on the track.
