Escort’namix made a likeable winning reappearance at Dromahane when she took her five-and-six-year-old mares’ maiden. The Robert Tyner-trained winner made her debut at Bartlemy last May where she excited the race at the penultimate fence having made good progress up to that point behind the leaders. Benefiting from her experience last season, Escot’namix made it a pillar-to-post victory in the hands of Derek O’Connor where she held a commanding advantage over her rivals throughout and kept on well in the home straight to win by one and a half lengths. The daughter of Al Namix is from a stellar black type family as she is a half-sister to the Grade two hurdle winner, Escort’men as well as being from the family of Cheltenham Festival winner, Qualando. Escot’namix proved to be a smart individual who has clearly progressed over the summer and looks the sort that will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard in mares’ races over the coming seasons.
