Global Citizen looked a gelding right out of the top drawer following an eased down four-length win in a five-year-old geldings maiden at Bellurgan Park recently. Trained by William Murphy, the Alkaadhem gelding raced prominently throughout the three-mile event and looked in complete control from some way out. Showing a nice blend of speed and stamina, he quickened up well after the second last under Noel McParlan and a sound jump at the last allowed him to come home at his ease. Never asked for maximum effort, he looks a well above average sort and is sure to prove popular when entering the sales ring. From the family of highly rated track winners A Hare Breath and De Plotting Shed, this gelding looks destined for the same faith.
