Pacific de Baune was narrowly beaten on his only start to date but there was plenty to like about the effort from the Al Namix gelding. Representing an in-form Pat Doyle, the four-year-old was plenty forward for one so inexperienced. Given a prominent ride by Derek O'Connor, Pacific de Baune was not headed until after the final fence, by a horse who had finished second on his previous start. From the family of Seville de Baune, a national hunt winner in France, he is sure to improve plenty for this effort and will develop into a nice track performer in the future
