The eye-catching Primal Focus made a very promising debut at Belclare in March when finishing second to First Account in the four-year-old maiden. Primal Focus disputed the lead for much of the race before taking up the runner-up spot at the penultimate fence where he stayed on well in the home straight to finish behind the highly regarded winner. This race produced the fastest time of the day which was 13 seconds faster than the day’s average. The son of Intense Focus is a half-brother to five winners on the flat as well as being from the family of some high class Group winners which includes the Group two winner Hill Pass. Having posted such a strong run, this good-looking gelding lost little in defeat and is a very likeable youngster with a lot to offer it seems.
