Annie Bonny made her debut a winning one when she took her five-year-old-and-upwards mares’ maiden at Horse and Jockey in March. Ridden close to the pace throughout before progressing to lead after the penultimate fence, the daughter of Black Sam Bellamy was well in command in the closing stages where she kept on strongly on the run-in to win by a comfortable six lengths. The Sam Curling-trained winner is from a family of graded performers which includes Supreme Prince and Supreme Serenade. Annie Bonny showed a game attitude and won in the style of a mare who is destined for a profitable career on the track.
