"It is not easy to get the good ones, but we will keep trying," he added and although O'Connor did not offer a horse at yesterday's one-day point-to-point sale, he said: "It was good for the point-to-point men, it gave people somewhere to bring the horses to sale from the last two weekends' racing."

Of his year he concluded: "I've got a good few gone and we've had a good year."

This filly is out of the Peintre Celebre mare Koubba, a daughter of Elyaadi, dam of the Listed-placed Dewcup and Gaoth Chuil. (14:45)

Jack Doyle said: "He is a gorgeous horse, he is as nice a horse as is here today, from a good family and looks a big athlete, delighted to get him," said Doyle. "We had one by the sire before, he went well and we liked him and he had a lot of ability. He is from a good farm, horse are always done well. He will go pointing. We watched the online video of him loose schooling – he can certainly jump!"

The further family features leading performers such as Racing Demon, Abolitionist, Askanna, Silenet Approach and Minella Cocooner.

Consignor Adrian Costello said: "He's a lovely big chasing type of horse and I think he deserved to make a fair price and hopefully he will work out for his new owners. If he wins his point-to-point I think he will be very valuable.

"I bought him here as a foal from Kilbarry Lodge and he has a lovely pedigree, from one of their good families. Joshua Tree only stood in Ireland for two years but he is a very good sire in France and one I like, I think he is a good and proven stallion.

"I sold one to Pat [Doyle] before and he is a great man to train a pointer, he just wants a bit of luck and hopefully he will be lucky for him." (14:36)

The April-born is out of Inchiquin Rose, a grand-daughter of the Grade 2 winner Rose Of Inchiquin, who is dam of the Grade 1-winning chasers Empire Of Dirt and Panther Claw.

the gelding is out of Hazy Manor, who was placed over hurdles and is a half-sister to Humphrey Bogart, who won the Listed Derby trial and was also a winner over hurdles.

It is the extended "H" family from the Aga Khan Studs featuring the Oaks (G1) third-placed Hazarista, the dual Derby winner and champion Harzand, as well as Big Rock, the champion miler of 2023, Hurricane Lane, the champion three-year-old stayer of 2021, the Group 1 mare Seal Of Approval and Emily Upjohn, the champion older European mare of 2023 and a runner in tomorrow's Coronation Cup (G1) at Epsom. The filly was sold by the County Clare-based Cnoc Na gCapall Stud, and Fachtna Twomey said: "I bought her as a foal, out of a field. She was always a cracker, always a big strong filly and straightforward to handle. I buy a couple of foals every year and keep turning them over."

She is out of Hayes Princess (King's Theatre), dam of two winners, including Mylesfromwicklow, a dual winner over fences this year for trainer Dan Skelton and a Tattersalls Ireland May Sale and Tattersalls Cheltenham November Sale graduate. (13:33)

By Masked Marvel, whose son Teahupoo won the Stayers' Hurdle (G1) at this year's Cheltenham Festival and the Champion Stayers Hurdle (G1) at the Punchestown Festival, the gelding is from the young family of the multiple graded race winners and performers Limerick Lace, Sway, Oiseau de Nuit and Up To You.

Her dam Farida des Bambous is by the leading French sire No Risk At All.

Mockleshill sold the fourth top lot at last week's record-breaking Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale – a son of Profitable to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for €270,000. (13:30)

She was sold by Lacken Stud for breeder Paul Rothwell and is from a winning family.

Fair Funny is a half-sister to Dedigout (Bob Back), a ten-time winner of £229,00 in earnings with victories including the Champion Novice Hurdle (G1) at Punchestown, the Ballybin Hurdle (G2), the Boyne Hurdle (G2), the Lismullen Hurdle (G2) and the Galmoy Hurdle (G2). He was also placed four times in graded races, including in two Grade 1 chases.

Third dam is Winning Nora, won won 11 races and was placed in the Kerry National (L), the Galway Plate (L), the Nas Na Ri Chase (L) and the Kerry Group Rose Handicap Chase (L). (13:12)

Sold y Lakefield Fam, the gelding boasts a top class NH pedigree being out of the Broadway Flayer mare Dawn Flyer and a half-sister to the 26-time winner Moscow Flyer, who had 19 wins over fences including ten Grade 1s. He also won thre Grade 1 hurdle races.

Another half-brother Lenabane has Grade 1-placed form over fences in the Kerry National (G1) and the Guinness Handicap Chase (G1).

Darren O’Dwyer has enjoyed a great May Sale – he purchased yesterday's second top lot Dippedinmoonlight in February for €9,500 and she sold in yesterday's point-to-point sale for €130,000 to trainer Emmet Mullins after winning her debut point-to-point by 40 lengths for Daragh Barry.

Menzies produced 32 winners last season from her Durham-based yard, a second-best season for her by winners trained and prize-money earned. (13:10)

Tirwanako got his first Grade 1 winner this spring when Jasmin De Vaux, trained by David Mullins' uncle Willie Mullins, won the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. The five-year-old gelding just got the better of the Gordon Elliott-trained Romeo Coolio, who had been purchased at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale 2023 for a sale-topping £420,000.

The stallion stands at Knockhouse Stud. (12:59)

Celtic Cailin picked up Grade 2 and Grade 3 placed form and is dam of two winners under Rules and one point-to-point winner.

Order Of St George, a multiple Group 1-winning son of Galileo, has first crop four-year-olds this year. He has had five Irish point-to-point winners and one winner under Rules so far – Mighty Bandit, winner of a maiden hurdle on debut, a runner at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals and bought for €420,000 by Highflyer Bloodstock at the Andy and Gemma Brown Dispersal, held at Fairyhouse in February. Offered by Clonmult Farm, this filly by Night Wish is a February-born foal and is out of the dual winner Bonne Franquette (Doctor Dino). She is a daughter of the Flat Listed winner Bonne Gargotte and the Group 3 -placed Bonne Gargotte, the dam of two Listed-placed runners on the Flat.

Under the third dam is a rare horse – a 20-time winner who ran 84 times. Trait De Genie's many wins included two Listed successes and he also was Group 3 placed.

This filly was first purchased as a foal at the Tattersalls Ireland November Foal Sale 2021 by the Flying Wish Syndicate for €20,000. (11:21)

Already named Baldilou, and sold by Derry and Robert White's DAR Bloodstock, he is a half-brother to one winner from two runners out of his Kapgarde mare Baldinoa, who ran once over jumps in France.

Saintgodrel is a son of the former champion and veteran sire Saint Des Saints. He stands at Foxwood Farm in Ireland, the first son of the champion to stand in Ireland having started his career in France. He is out of the mare Loumie (Loup Solitaire), who was a Listed winner over jumps and Grade 1 runner-up twice. Her best runner so far is the Grade 1-placed chaser Nick Lost.

Saintgodrel's first crop are now five-year-olds. (10:46)

The gelding was consigned by Boardsmill Stud, and is out of the Shirocco mare Annie Good News. She is dam of one winner from one runner – Go Johnny Go (Hillstar), the winner of a 2m Flat race point-to-point on his career debut at Milbourne St Andrew.

Poet's Word only runner over hurdles so far is the four-year-old Pacini. He was bred by William Slattery when the sire was based in the UK at Nunnery Stud, is already a hurdle winner for trainer Gordon Elliott and finished second in the Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle (G3) at Naas in February.

Poet's Word's first Irish-bred crop are three-year-olds of this year and he stands at Boardsmill Stud. (10:32)

A half-brother to the Grade 2-winning hurdler and Listed chaser Born Survivor, after a good fourth on debut at Toomebridge on May 11, the four-year-old son of Court Cave went on to score at Stradbally a week later.

He was Tattersalls Ireland November Foal when sold by Moyfinn Stud and bought by Gerry Hogan Bloodstock for €17,000. (18:46)

A five-year-old gelding by Dansant and out a winning Kings Theatre mare, Dance Rule finished a good second on debut at Ballindenisk on May 19. (18:40)

This four-year-old son of Wootton Bassett made very impressive debut at Tralee on Saturday when beaten just by a length into second. He is out of dual Grade 1-winning mare Harmonious, dam of the Listed-placed Ajayeb, and was bred by Al Shaqab Racing.

He was sold today by the County Wexford-based Richard Black of Ballinapark Stables.

Black was all smiles after the sale and said: "He had been in training in France and came recommended, he had not done much. We built him up slowly and he did a couple of good bits of work lately. He was still green when he ran and there is still some a good bit of improvement in him. I am delighted with where he is going. He is a beautiful animal in every way."

Although Black only has around three or four horses in his care this is not his best sale to date – he topped the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale with Maire Banrig in 2017 who fetched £320,000.

Of this May Sale, he added: "It has been brilliant this sale has been put on, we have been looked after to the best here by a top class team. This sale has been massive for us."

Purchaser Harold Kirk, buying for Willie Mullins said: "This is a beautiful horse, by a fantastic sire and with a pedigree. I spoke to trainer Francis Graffard who had him in France and he said the horse was just big and backward, and he did not really train him.

"I loved him in his point-to-point – he could be a two miler, could be a 1m4f Flat horse, could be a good hurdler, he could do two jobs and we are hoping he will make a good dual-purpose type. He is a beautiful individual by one of the best sires in the world.

"He has shown he can jump – and there is just loads of class in his pedigree and in his race he showed loads of class."

Of this sale, Kirk added: "If this sale was not here, that horse and that sale wouldn't have happened. It is well done to Tattersalls for doing this – they are always thinking ahead. It has suited everyone and got all the horses here in the one place." (17:48)

An impressive 40-length winner on debut and in the fastest time of the day when seen to put in a fine turn of foot, she is a well-bred sort – her dam is a half-sister to the 14-time Group 1 winner Goldikova, as well as five further Flat Group race winners.

She was sold by Daragh Barry's Furziestown Stables having been bought by Danny Hussey / D P O’Dwyer Bloodstock for just €9,500 in February.

Mullins said: "She got a brilliant pedigree, it was a brilliant performance and fingers crossed she can be a nice filly going forward. We will get her home and she has had a busy spring as she was only bought in February and came out pointing, so we will give her some time off and see what she is like then. She ought to be a nice dual-purpose filly and ownership plans are to be made."

He added of Zarak: "He had the Galway Hurdle winner last year and he has been flying on the Flat, too, and some Group 1 winners this spring. You have the sire and the dam line, it is all there as well as the performance, there is not much to crib her on." (17:21)

Under the third dam Clever But Costly is the Grade 1 Futurity Stakes winner Traitor, the multiple graded stakes winners Sun King and Ocean Drive. She is ancestress of the Grade 1 winners Peeping Tom and the Grade 1-placed Hurricane Bertie. (18:56)

He is a half-brother to the Italian multiple winner and Listed fourth-placed Francisca Pink (Helmet), and an own-brother to Crystal City, now named High Cloud and shipped to run in Hong Kong after winning his two-year-old maiden on his second career start. (18:14)

She hails from a predominately German-based pedigree – Quintessenz being a half-sister to Quelle Amore, winner of the Group 2 Schwarzgold Rennen.

Since the catalogue was published Quantanamera, a grand-daughter of Quelle Amour and Germany's 2022 champion two-year-old filly, has finished second in Prix Corrida (G2).

The leading runner in the pedigree is Que Belle, winner of the Preis Der Diana (G2), runner-up in the Prix Ganay (G1) and third in the Aral-Pokal (G1).

Go Racing is a southern-hemisphere syndicate business, but has been buying in Europe this spring. (18:13)

He is a grandson of the black-type placed mare Drama Class, the dam of the Group 3 winner Eleanora Duse and the Listed winner Scottish Stage, who was a runner-up in the Irish Oaks (G1) and the Ribblesdale Stakes (G2). The family traces to the multiple Group 1 winner Sun Princess, the dam of the Dewhurst Stakes (G1) winner Prince Of Dance. (18:13)

It is another successful pinhooking return for the consignor – the colt had been bought at the Tattersalls October Book 2 Sale for 20,000gns by Johnny Collins.

The colt's Dubawi dam did not race, but she is a daughter of the Cherry Hinton Stakes (G2) and Cheveley Park Stakes (G1) runner-up and Queen Mary Stakes (G3) third-placed Misheer. She is dam of the Listed winner Mistrusting, dam of the three black-type winners headed up by Althiqa, winner of the Diana Stakes (G1) and the Just A Game Stakes (G1) . (17:18)

The dam of five winners, including the 14-time winner Dream House and the nine-time winner Excessable, she is out of the dual-winning Exceed And Excel mare Kummel Excess, who is a grand-daughter of the talented Girl From Ipanema, winner of the Listed Victress Stakes, second in the Falmouth Stakes (G2), and third in the Matron Stakes (G3) and the Prix de l'Air (G3). "He is a very good-looking horse, well recommended by Willie Browne and his team," said Coleman. "He is bred to be quick – he is by Profitable and out of Dandy Man mare, both proven speed sires – and he certainly looked to be quick. It is obviously also a fast family further back, too. He did everything he needed to in the breeze yesterday and then vetted very cleanly, and he was attractive to many buyers.

"He is a big, strong horse who should be ready to rock and roll and, hopefully, he will be fast as a two-year-old. He also has plenty of size and scope so he should be more than just a two-year-old. We have no plans as yet."

Willie Browne, standing in the rain by the outside ring, was all smiles and he said: "We bought him because we had the dam Fleeting Princess, there was no other reason really, although he is a very good looking horse as a yearling. His dam was very fast and we liked her.

"My partner Tracey [Kearney] spotted the pedigree, and it is a complete family job – Tracey, me and my son Jamie. We are over the moon."

The sale was a good old-fashioned breeze up horse – inexpensively purchased as a yearling and all about speed.

Browne added: "Speed is everything, thankfully we had it here, though in fairness he was always a good-looking horse. It is a great story for us." (15:11)

"He is gorgeous," said David Spratt, who was bidding in person and on the balcony. "We had no plans as yet, he will come home to the farm to start with."

The colt was consigned by Beechlea Bloodstock, and Conor Hoban was all smiles once the colt was safely back inside his stable.

"He is a lovely big strong horse, he is for the client Rathcairn Stud, who bred him. We got him before Christmas, we prepped him and he has just kept progressing all the way. He is a big horse and I thought he did a lovely breeze yesterday, finished out really well. He is an exciting horse going forward and wish his new owners all the best," said Hoban.

"We are delighted, it is a great result for the owner and everyone in the yard. We have had a great two weeks and this is the best result we have had – it is credit for the team at home and the work they have done.

"We had high expectations coming here based on this colt's homework, and the owner was prepared to race him if he did not make his money because he had shown us plenty at home. We thought he'd sell well and we got more than we had thought."

Beechlea, which has been consigning for two years, has produced nine horses this year and all have sold, Hoban said: "It is important that they can go on now and do it on the track. It has been a good season for us, and we are looking forward to getting back involved for next year.

"A lot of credit has to go to Tattersalls Ireland for today – there is great turn out, plenty of horses are getting done and this is definitely the strongest sale we have been at this spring." (14:51)

The filly was purchased as a yearling by Greenhills for €60,000.

Mark McStay of Avenue bid for the filly and said after he had signed the docket: "The filly speaks for herself she is by Sioux Nation and is going to trainer Paddy Twomey for an existing owner. Last year Paddy and myself found a colt here by the sire [Letsbefrankaboutit] and from Katie and he won a Group 3."

He added: "This filly came highly recommended by Katie, the filly did an outstanding breeze. We had to dig very deep to get her, but there are no regrets, let's hope she is lucky. The new owner is very happy and delighted to be able to send another horse to Paddy. I am delighted to get her and she looks like she is one who can rock on fairly soon."

McStay continued praising the work done by Greenhills: "Katie does a great job, she is one of the best in the business, her recommendations stand for an awful lot. The filly was extremely well produced, she did a superb breeze. I am not a clock worshipper but she did a clock very well, and Katie got paid accordingly.

Of the breeze up market, he said: "This breeze up consignors put a lot of money down, they put a huge amount of effort into it, it does not always come off. This year a lot of the middle market has been really tough for them, and when they get a good one like this they are entitled to get paid. However, the demand for good horses around the world is a strong as ever."

Of the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale, he said: "Every year this sale produces. The timing is good, it gives the consignors a little bit of extra time, and they can take a later horse." (14:29)

"The day that she won at Naas she beat some expensive horses from some of the big yards," recalled the trainer. "She then went and picked up some fourth placed black-type.

"We had two plans to either do this or race her ourselves – my son Matty Jnr is very friendly with Ryan and sorted this, we thought that if she did not make her money we could then train her. I'd love to have raced her, but if you can get a hand of money, you are not going to win it racing."

He added: "The mare had an Arizona colt this year and is being rested this year to get her covered earlier next year."

Conran, who has been consigning with O'Rouke at Lacka since 2020, said: "Matty bought her mother here at the September Sale for just €8,000, she won her two-year-old maiden, then went onto run in the Queen Mary, she was very quick.

"This filly came to me in October and she has been brilliant ever since and are just delighted to have the opportunity to sell her for our neighbours and good friends. We have had a great year, we had a good bunch of horses, we had nine to sell and they have all sold, sold well and gone to good homes.

"This is by far the best result, we are very lucky, and it great for all theTynan family, I am very grateful for them give us this chance."

Conran admitted that ahead of the sale he was quietly confident, based on what he had seen of her at home.

"I try and let the horses do the talking on the track, and thankfully it all went well and she backed up her homework. She came and breezed smartly, we were not surprised. But she has to go on and be good now, she has sold for a lot of money! I think she will be lucky for the new owners."

Purchaser Matt Coleman, who signed as Stroud Coleman and who was bidding from the bridge, said: "She is a very smart filly, she breezed in one of the quickest times of the day. She is a filly with plenty of size, scope and quality and from a very fast family.

"She is by a proven sire and out of a mare who was pretty smart herself. In my opinion Sioux Nation is upgrading his mares, and this mare could run anyway and has thrown a filly with plenty of talent the way she breezed. It was though the breeze that really stood out for us."

He concluded: "She is for a client and we have no trainer plans as yet." (13:52)

"I know the mare has not done it yet, but she is by Kingman and out of Galileo mare and there is plenty of depth to the page, so she is pretty exciting," said Jackson Stops. "She represents a bit of value – the price equates to £100,000 and is way less than the sire's covering fee, and we have seen that she can gallop which gives us a bit of a chance.

"From here she will go to a pre-training yard for a few weeks to let down, George [Gill] of Opulence will chose a trainer then. She should be an attractive prospect to sell to the syndicate, she is a good-looking sort and has resale value with that pedigree."

Her dam is Asanta Sana, daughter of the Group 3 winner Milanova, dam of Group 3 winner Pretty Perfect, an own-sister to Asanta Sana. Milanova is an own-sister to Holy Roman Emperor, the champion French two-year-old colt of 2006, winner of the Prix Jean Luc Lagardere (G1) and the Phoenix Stakes (G1), runner-up in the Dewhurst Stakes (G1) and the National Stakes (G1), and a highly successful international sire. The colt is a first foal out of the War Command mare What Endures, a half-sister to Bubbles On Ice, winner of the Memories Of Silver Stakes (L), and was sold by Drummona House. (11:36)

Walsh has enjoyed plenty of success at the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up having sold the sale's record-priced lot in 2022, and was also the second-leading consignor here last year.

The 2023 Greenhills-consigned colt out of Omanome and by Sioux Nation, who fetched €240,000 bought by Avenue Bloodstock, went on to be named Letsbefrankaboutit. He won his maiden on his debut and then took second place in the Round Tower Stakes (G3).

The farm also was this year's leading consignor at this year's Tattersalls Craven Sale by average.

This May-born filly is a half-sister to Rohann (Mayson), the David Evans-trained sprinter who collected the Sandy Lane Stakes (G2), two Group 3 successes and was three-times Group 1 placed. So far the six-year-old has won 10 races from 41 starts. (11:18)

The May-born colt is out of the two-year-old winner Timpani (Raven's Pass), a half-sister to Poseidon Adventure, a dual runner-up at Group 1 level, as well as to Kisses for Me, who was thee-time placed in Listed races.

"He is for Paul and Clare Rooney," said Ross. "He has some size and scope, is a back end type and is one for the future. A trainer has not yet been decided." (10:59)

This colt was bought as a yearling for 20,000gns by Hyde Park Stud at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale last autumn, the colt is out of the Mastercraftsman Listed placed mare Tears Of The Sun, a daughter of the Listed winner Perfect Star, dam of the Prestige Stakes (G3) winner Kilmah.

Brown said: "In early! The stallion is doing it all over, and looks special and that sire line is pretty potent. He has come from a very good hotel, John [Bourke] has sold a lot of good horses including Cachet [1,000 Guineas winner] amongst others.

"He did a very good breeze, he is a real baby and is only a May foal. He will be going into the field now for a month with Richard Morgan Evans, he will keep jogging in the mornings but will be out in the afternoons. I just feel he is a real frame – I was going to say that he needs a month of grass and good weather, I am not sure he is going to get the latter!

"But I think that will really see him explode physically. He won't be going into training for a while, and we have no trainer in mind yet." (10:25)

Theginrin is a seven-year-old daughter of Milan and was an impressive 8l winner on her point-to-point debut for Ger Lawless before being purchased for £115,000 at the 2022 Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale by Andrew and Gemma Brown with Joey Logan.

She has shown promise over hurdles notably when third at Tramore in a maiden hurdle in November beaten only a 5l by the well-regarded Henry De Bromhead-trained Banprionsa.

Her dam Niamh’s Away is an own-sister to Presence Of Mind, a Listed winner over jumps in the US. It is the family of the high-class, four-time Grade 1 winner and Royal & SunAlliance (G1) winner Albertas Run.

Tactical Affair, a five-year-old son of No Risk At All, ran a race full of promise when a close fifth on his debut last April in the Defender Bumper at the Punchestown Festival to Predators Gold, subsequently placed in at Grade 1 level behind Caldwell Potter (Lot 5).

Tactical Affair won his maiden hurdle in taking style at Cork in November.

He was subsequently third behind the highly regarded Willie Mullins-trained Elixir D’Ainay at Punchestown in December. This brother to multiple winners is clearly a talented young performer.

Staffordshire Knot, a six-year-old son of Shantou, has won two of his three career starts, and was also a good third behind a subsequent Grade 1 hurdle winner Readin Tommy Wrong on his Cork hurdle debut.

He returned to bumper company on his second start and won in taking style at Fairyhouse. On his latest outing at Down Royal in January he won his maiden hurdle by 21l. He is by top sire Shantou and is out of an own-sister to dual Grade 1 winner The Tullow Tank and half-sister to the Grade 3 Grand National winner Many Clouds.

The bidding for Staffordshire Rock saw Eddie O'Leary outbid Jim Bryce for this six-year-old son of Shantou at €510,000, the horse to go back to Elliott.

After his purchase Elliott reflected on the whole sale: "I was disappointed to lose the big horse, but that is the way it is – hopefully he will be lucky for the new owners. Pied Piper is coming back and we have got all the ones we wanted apart from Caldwell Potter.

"This horse is an exciting six-year-old and we are delighted he is coming back to us. The horses all looked great – we only had a week's notice for this sale and it is a credit to the staff.

"We can get back to concentrating on the day job now!" (11:29)
