It is the further family of Merry Masquerade, Over The Bar and Merry People.
It is a family Richards knows well having bought the mare's three-year-old filly by Milan for €40,000 at this sale last year.
"This sale has been good to me," said Richards. "I have not had anything by the stallion, but he was a good racehorse and this is an athletic horse." (10:35)
Lot 4: the action kicks into gear early on at the Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale – this filly by Workforce and the second foal out of Orla Rose (Yeats) is sold by Graiguebeg Stud to trainer Robert Tyner for €21,000.

The stallion's most expensive sale produce so far is Working Away, a winning point-to-pointer bought by Gordon Elliott at last year's Cheltenham November Sale for £330,000 from Ballyboy Stables. (10:15)
Lot 8A: the third wildcard entry in today, the named filly Giorgia Rose (Kapgarde), is bought by Barry O'Neill for €30,000.

"He is for a client and will be staying in Ireland," said Phelan. "No trainer has been decided, he will get broken in and they will then decide what to do then. He is a fine horse and Alan King had a good one in the family, sire Buck's Boum is no harm either. He has been bought as a racing prospect."
The "good one" at King's was the hardy runner Oh Crick (Nikos), a four-time winner over fences, including in the Grand Annual Chase (G3) at Cheltenham and the Red Rum Handicap Chase (G3) at Aintree. He was also placed 17 times, with a third place in a Grade 1 chase at Ascot a highlight.

In 2020, Macauley bought a three-year-old gelding by the sire. Named Stay Away Fay, he was trained by Matty Flynn O'Connor at Ballycrystal Stables and won on his point-to-point debut in December 2021 at Lingstown for the Cullen House Syndicate. He was sold a few days later for £305,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham December Sale, bought by Paul Nicholls and Tom Malone.
The gelding won this year's Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle (G1) at The Festival for the trainer and owners Chris Giles and Dave Staddon.
"We saw this horse yesterday," reported Macauley, "and we were not going home without him, he is the one we really wanted. He is a great sort, by Shantou out of an Oscar mare and from a fine family. Let's hope we can do the same again!"
The gelding's placed dam The Princetonian (Oscar) is an own-sister to the Champion Hurdle (G1) winner Rock On Ruby, a 12-time winner of six stakes races and placed 13-times, four times at Grade 1 level. (13:29)

"I thought he was the best of the day, though the page is slightly light for what he cost," reported Crawford. "I have been waiting on him all day and I had to go a bit further than I wanted to, but it is hard to buy a bit of quality without spending a bit of money. If he gets a result he will be cheap, if he doesn't he will be expensive!"
He added: "This horse is very correct and Evan Williams trains his full-brother – I spoke to Evan a few minutes ago and he loves his horse. He highly recommended the full-brother, which gave me the encouragement to push on. The right boys were bidding against me, if the right people like him at this end, hopefully the right people will like him at the next stage."
Of plans he outlined: "Hopefully, I will have a big decision to make – hopefully he will show me enough that I will have to make a decision between pointing or going down the bumper route. He will be trained to sell."
And of his store horse buying season, he said: "I have been fairly quiet, I thought trade was too strong at the other sales, you have to have a cut off point. That allowed me to be a wee bit stronger today, it is all swings and roundabouts and I have done a bit of business today.
"And I might do a bit tomorrow – I know tomorrow is set up as a Part 2, but I have seen a number of horses I like." (19:37)
Lot 236: Kow Boy Sivola, by Noroit, becomes the new joint top lot, bought by trainer John John McConnell for €55,000. Sold by Liss House, he is a full-brother to the dual Game Spirit Chase winner and Queen Mother Champion Chase runner-up Funambule Sivola.
"He is not overly big, but he is athletic and a great mover and is full-brother to a good horse," said McConnell. "He is from a very good farm and came highly recommended. The vendor has promised me that he is one for George Mernagh Memorial.
"Being a bit small does not concern me – I would be just as happy to win the Champion Hurdle as the Gold Cup! I don't have an owner as yet – he is for sale." (20:41)

Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale
Day 1
Welcome to the first session of the two-day September Yearling Sale, followed by the one-day Part II September Yearling Sale
It might be a bit of a damp morning here at the Fairyhouse sale ground, but things are buzzing and the sale ground is lively with buyers making final decisions.
Selling starts for this first session at 10am. (09:05)
Follow all the action here on sales day live, and catch up with the updates, withdrawals and sales. (09:20)
Lot 2: we get off to an early strong start... this filly, offered by the Irish National Stud and by the farm's leading sire Invincible Spirit, makes €55,000, bought by owner David L'Estrange, who reported that the filly is "lovely and very light on her feet".
Sold by the Irish National Stud, she is out of Across The Sea, a dual winner by Dubawi and a daughter of Alsindi (Acclamation), winner of the Oh So Sharp Stakes (G3) and a grand-daughter of the Listed St Hugh's Stakes winner Needles And Pins. (10:18)
Lot 9: the first yearling by the Group 1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Sottsass to walk through the Tattersalls Ireland sales ring makes €52,000.
He was sold by Kellsgrange Stud having been pinhooked by Troy Steve Bloodstock for €34,000.

Lot 12: the first to six figures today is this filly by the young sire Ten Sovereigns, consigned by Glenvale Stud. She was bought by Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock for €100,000.
"Ten Sovereigns is doing great with his first crop, this filly is a very good walker and very athletic," he said, standing on the balcony alongside Harry Dunlop. "She has been bought for Andrew Megson, who is perhaps known more for his jumping string. Harry is helping the Megsons, and this filly is going to his brother Ed Dunlop, who has a few for the couple to run on the Flat for some fun."
Striking so early on in the sale to fulfil this order, he said: "It is early in the sale and Andrew was only wanting to buy one, it is funny how it happened."
Bromley added of the filly's family: "Joseph [O'Brien] had the two-year-old last year [Lakota Seven, winner and Listed and Group 3 placed] who was a good two-year-old over a mile and sold well at the end of the year.
"The pedigree goes back to a good Juddmonte bloodline in Monroe, the dam of Xaar. There are few Group 1 performers down at the bottom of the page. It is really exciting, and this filly looks as though she has size and scope to make up into a three-year-old, too."
Of the September Yearling Sale, he added: "It has been a lucky sale for me, I like this sale. I will say that this will be a good strong domestic trade today, it will be a solid trade."
Lakota Seven was sold at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale for 180,000gns, bought by RMG Bloodstock.

Lot 27: BBA Ireland strikes for this Wootton Bassett filly, consigned by Norelands. The team's agent Michael Donohoe was in charge of bidding and went to €82,000 for the daughter of the winning Dalakhani mare Aspasi, and he said: "We are big fans of the sire. She is a lovely filly and a gorgeous physical.
"She has been really well produced by Norelands, the farm produces good horses, and we think she is good value. She has been bought for a Middle Eastern-based client, who has been a lucky client of mine. She will stay in Ireland to be broken and will go on to be trained in Ireland, England or France. "
He added: "It is great to be at the September Sale and see horses by such top level sires, she stood out a bit, but we are happy with what we have paid for her."
Of the sale, he said: "It is very busy here, there are lots of buyers here and Tattersalls and ITM have worked hard to get buyers here across all levels, there should be a good clearance rate today."
The filly's grand-dam is Insight, winner of the E P Taylor Stakes (G1), the Prix de l'Opera (G2) and third placed in the Prix de Diane (G1). It is the further family of the Group 1 winner Dolphin Street and the Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Saffron Walden. (11:18)

"He is coming into training with me, we will get him broken in and we will see where we are at, but he is a fine horse and has a great page as a full-brother to Dandalla; the mare has had three winners from three runners," said the successful buyer, announced as purchaser from the rostrum by auctioneer John O'Kelly referencing to Mark's son Billy who has been making such big waves as a jockey and who rode out his apprentice claim last week when recording his 95th winner and just 11 months on from his race riding debut.
Loughnane Snr added of colt bred by Robert Norton and sold by Peter Nolan Bloodstock: "This colt looks an early type. I have purchased and been lucky from this sale before, but this the first yearling I have bought this season. He is for a local syndicate made up of my landlord Steve Mares and a few friends."
