Lot 509: the first at this year's November NH Sale to make a six-figure sum is the Walk In The Park colt is the second foal out of the Stowaway Listed-winning mare Posh Trish.
The colt was bid on by Gerry Aherne, who signed with Charles Shanahan, and was sold by breeder Oliver Loughlin. He bred Posh Trish out of Moscow Demon and sold the Stowaway filly as a foal at the NH Sale for just €1,200. She was re-sold later in her career at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale in 2017 for £135,000 to Tom Malone after winning her debut point-to-point. She went on to win six races for Paul Nicholls and owner Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
Loughlin bought his mare back to join his broodmare band as a seven-year-old at the November NH Mares Sale in 2020 for €118,000.
"I bought her back after she won those six races, and this was the second out of her – as soon as this colt was born I thought I might hit the jackpot as he came out looking like a star from the start," said Loughlin. "He is an image of her, a baby of her."
Of the decision to use Walk In The Park for the mare's first pregnancy, he said: "He is a good stallion, she was a good mare and the plan is to bred the best to the best."
Of the latest plans, he updated: "She is not in-foal, but is being prepared for February and, please god, we might get a filly, and we would keep her."
Aherne said: "For us he is the best foal here. We probably will race him, but not yet decided for sure, we will see where we are and match them up when we have finished. But the way the stallion is going, we were anxious to get the best ones we can.

"He is a good walker and by the right sire, he is a good size and he has been bought as a pinhooking prospect," said Kate, given speaking duties by her father.
The early sale slot today was a strategic plan chosen by consignor Jimmy Furlong of Thistletown.
"We deliberately put him in today so that he would stand out a bit, it was something we did last year, also. He is a cracking individual, we had all the right men for him and he made a good price, we'd have been disappointed he had not made €50,000. We are delighted with that," he said, adding: "We bought the mare Rolanna here for €10,000, and she has had two fillies who have sold okay, and this is her big payday. She had won four races and she has that bit of Listed placed black-type, too. She has a lovely temperament and this colt has that as well. She is a fine big mare and she is back in-foal to Blue Bresil, due in February.
The shrewd consignor did not miss the opportunity for a bit of promo regarding the rest of the Thistletown Stud draft – a further five due in the ring today, and 17 in total to consign.
"We have a very good Walk In The Park [Lot 585], another by Blue Bresil [Lot 322] and a strong foal by Golden Horn [Lot 289]," he outlined. (11:04)

Lot 621: sells for €35,000 and is by Starfield Stud's first-crop sire Far Above. The filly is a third purchase today by Razza Latina, following on from the 11 lots bought by the agency over the two days of Part I.
"She will come back to us," said Cristiana Brivio, who trains with her husband Endo Botti, near Pisa, adding: "I like the sire and bought one by him earlier this week [Lot 226]. She is quite expensive but has a lot of quality, and is quite a scopey filly. have been pleased with all the horses I have bought this week and the horses on offer."
The filly was sold by Beechlane Stables and was pinhooked by Conor Walsh for €4,500 last autumn.
"She has been a very straightforward filly all the way through and prepped well, she is a big scopey filly," said Walsh. "It is a dream result, job done! We thought if we offered her in Part II it would mean that she'd stand out a bit."
Beechlane Stables is a new concern and Walsh said: "We are in Wexford, and this is just our third year in business and second year consigning under our own banner. This is the best result we have had so far for a pinhook."
Walsh is already looking forward to return trips this winter on buying missions to the Flat foal sales. (14:40)
