The filly has a page, too – she is a half-sister to Wait Here (Presenting), a winner and placed in a Grade 2 over hurdles, and is a grand-daughter of Mistinguett (Doyoun), winner of over £119,00 in prize-money, successful in the Grade 1 Levy Board Hurdle at Cheltenham, the Grade 2 Champion Hurdle Trial and placed second in the Triumph Hurdle (G1) along with multiple graded placed results. She is also dam of two black-type winners and a black-type placed runner and it is the further family of the European champion three-year-old Sinndar.

The filly was sold today by Railstown Stud, purchased as a foal for €6,000 by William Slattery from The Premier Consignment. (12:18)

It is also the family of Harbour Pilot, winner of the Drinmore Novice Chase (G1), and Montys Pass, the Grand National (G3) and Kerry National (G1 winner.

The chesnut filly was sold by The Paddocks. (12:28)

The three-year-old was sold by Ballyhampshire Stud and is out of My Pollyanna (Presenting), an own-sister to Didtheyleaveuoutto, a Listed bumper winner and placed in a Grade 2 hurdle.

In addition to Denman, the gelding's third dam Polly Puttens is also the dam of the Grade 1 winner Silverburn, the Grade 1 placed Far Horizon and is ancestress of the Grade 2 and Grade 3 winners Potterman, Kayf Grace, Vienna Court, and the Grade 1 winner Hearts Are Trumps. (12:48)

Perfect Woman boasts placed black-type gained in the Lomardstown Mares Novice Chase. Third dam produced the Grade 2 and 3 winners Merry Masquerade, Over The Bar and Merry People. (13:22)

Sold by Rathyork Stud, the gelding is out of the Saint Des Saints mares Saintete, a half-sister to Numero special (Nikos), a Listed chase winner in France and Grade 3 placed.

J'Habite En France was bought in France as a yearling in 2020 for €10,000. (14:57)

"He has a great pedigree and he goes point-to-pointing. We have not had one by the sire but he has been doing very well."

The three-year-old gelding comes from the great Castletown Quarry Stud family of the Champion Hurdle-winning brothers Morley Street and Granville Again. Tasitocht is a half-sister to City Island, winner of the Neptune Investments Novices' Hurdle (G1), and to the dam of Fury Road, who won the Fort Leney Novices' Chase (G1) last winter.

Affinisea, a half-brother to Soldier Of Fortune, has only had three runners under Rules so far with one placing, but he had four winners in the point-to-point field last season. His first crop are four-year-olds of this year and he stands at Whytemount Stud. (15:40)

Malone said: "She is a lovely filly and I fell in love with her when I saw her. I have been involved with a few Highland Reels and they seem to be putting their best foot forward now and starting to roll. I have a couple of youngsters at home, fillies too, that I really like.

"This is fine big filly and is out of an Authorised mare which helps. She is for Tom Malone and will be for sale once I get her home."

Dam Verchinina (Authorized) is a half-sister to the Ascot Gold Cup (G1) winner Big Orange, and the pair's dam Miss Brown To You (Fasliyev) is a half-sister to Military Attack, winner of the Singapore Airlines International Cup (G1), the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (G1) and the Jockey Club Cup (G2).

Miss Brown To You is also a half-sister to Almaty, who won the Molecomb Stakes (G2), and to Artisia, the dam of the Hong Kong Vase (G1) winner Red Cadeaux and the Listed winner Amazing Red.

Fourth dam is Al Bahathri, the champion three-year-old filly in Ireland in 1985, the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner and the dam of Haafhd, the European champion three-year-old of 2004 and winner of the 2,000 Guineas.

Highland Reel has had three-year-old hurdle winners in England and Ireland, as well as the first three home in a juvenile hurdle at Tipperary. (16:15)

He is by Manatee, a son of Monsun who stands at Whytemount Stud at a fee of €3,000.

Consigned by Arglo House Stud, the gelding is out of the two-time French winner Do Something Love (Chichicastenango) and was bought by Arglo as a yearling in France for €5,500.

Bred by Darley, Manatee was trained by Andre Fabre for Godolphin and won two Group 2s over 1m4f in France. He also twice finished fourth in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (G1) run over the same distance.

His oldest crop are three-year-olds of this year and he has had a few runners in France. He stood until 2021 at Haras du Hoguenet. (19:22)

As for future ownership plans, Richards laughed: “He is for the first man who rings me up! I will be able to pull him out in front of anyone, he is a cracking horse. He looks a runner and I hope he is one.” (21:47)

He is a first foal out of Lough Derg Lily (Presenting) and from the family of Ashwell Boy, an 11-time winner and runner-up in the Maghull Novices Chase (G1). (11:45)

Consigned by Daisy Hill Farm, the three-year-old filly is out of the Listed-placed Mooakada (Montjeu) and is a half-sister to Mahsoob, winner of the Earl Of Sefton Stakes (G3).

The NH runners by Golden Horn, who won the Derby in 2015 and stands at Dalham Hall in Newmarket at a fee of £10,000, have been going well and are headed by the Grade 2 hurdle winner Stag Horn and the Grade 3-placed First Street. (12:04)

Offered by Kereen Stables for Pat O'Donovan, the gelding is bought by Eoin McDonagh of Shanaville Stables.

"He goes point-to-pointing," said McDonagh. "He is a good strong sort, I like the sire and I have seen a few by him and I like them. He has a nice pedigree, his half-brother was a bumper winner, and he looks like a horse who will come to hand quick."

The half-brother is called Monteip, won his bumper in December 2021, and holds his first hurdle entry next Tuesday for trainer Barry Fitzgerald.

Dam Riltree (Apple Tree)7y won over hurdles and is out of Fil Tiepy, a half-sister to Pomme Tiepy (Apple Tree), winner of the Ten Up Novice Chase (G2), the Naas Novice Chase (G2) and the Lombardstown Chase (L). She was also a runner-up in the Ellier Champion Novice Chase (G1).

Pillar Coral was bred by Juddmonte Farms. He did not race but is a half-brother to Coastal Path, Reefscape and Martaline. His dam Coraline was a half-sister to the Irish Oaks winner Wemyss Bight.

The February-born colt was sold by Carrigbeg Stud and is the first foal out of the unraced Night Of Thunder mare Lets Try. (11:11)

Dam Lisfannon (Bahamian Bounty) is a half-sister to the Listed winners Stunned and Dazed and Amazed, as well as to the dam of Yulong Gold Fairy, twice a winner of the Concorde Stakes (G3).

"I am delighted to be back here after two years away!" smiled Phil Hore of Mount Eaton Stud. "I always love this sale, it has been lucky for me and suits the horse that I bred or buy.

"I was surprised that I got him for what I did! The yearlings last year had stood out, the way his sire Havana Gold has gone with his first-crop I really wanted a foal from the second-crop of Havana Grey. Plans don't usually work as well as that!"

Bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud, he is the first by the sire offered at the sale and there are another nine lots (five fillies) due through the ring over the next two days.

The January colt is out of the dual winner Madame Paco (Paco Boy) and she is a daughter of Grade 2 winner Spotlight (Dr Fong) and a half-sister to the Group 3 winner Projection (Acclamation).

It is the family of the St Leger runner-up Berkshire Rocco, the Phoenix Stakes (G1) winner Zoffany, the Futurity Stakes (G2) winner Rostropovich and the Anglesey Stakes (G3) winner Wilshire Boulevard. (11:58)

"He is a smashing colt, he is our pick of the day," said Ross. "We bought Crack On Crack On at the breeze-up sales [Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale, €70,000] and he turned out to be a good horse, and this is a three-parts brother and is very similar to the older horse, a lovely, athletic and good actioned horse.

"He is for the Rooneys."

Successful pinhooker Tallon, who is based just 20 minutes away, said: "I bought him at Newmarket on the Saturday, he was down in the Solario yard and I had seen him on Friday morning and I liked him.

"It was a very, very, wet afternoon on Saturday and I just remember looking across at him walking in the parade ring and he his walk was just unreal. He has a beautiful easy walk with a tremendous head on him and presence, I loved him."

For Tallon this is the most important aspect when he is selecting his pinhook investments.

"For me they have to have a good head and a good walk and be by a stallion that is 'known', no good coming here with an unknown stallion. He is the first by Havana Gold that I have had – this colt has such a beautiful temperament, I wouldn't mind another one."

Tallon keeps the pinhooked numbers to around five or six each year so that he and his wife Margaret can do the horses themselves, without having to rely on outside staff.

"Margaret has kept the lid on the whole things through the sales prep," he smiles, adding: "It needed someone to do that! She loved him, she handled him a lot – if every yearling was like him, it would be straightforward."

This colt is out of the unraced dam Meaning Of Time (Captain Gerrard), a half-sister to the July Stakes (G2) runner-up Lewisham and to Crack On Crack On. He won three races at three and achieved a BHA rating high of 98 when second in a Class 2 handicap at York. He was sold to Hong Kong where he has been placed in the Hong Kong Derby (L).

Ross then bought the consecutive lot in the ring, Lot 58, a filly by Phoenix Of Spain from Noralla Stud Farm, pinhooked by the farm as a foal for €22,000.

"She is lovely, attractive filly, good actioned as well," added Ross.

She is a half-sister to three winners, is out of the placed mare Meeting In Paris (Dutch Art) and is a grand-daughter of Sharplaw Star (Xaar), third in the Queen Mary Stakes (G2). (12:37)

He is out of the Sea The Stars mare My Twinkle from the immediate family of Night Style, the Group 1 winner of the Grand Criterium (G1), and from the further family of Grey Swallow, Moonlight Dance and Romanised.

Condon said: "He is a very nice colt, from a good farm, he has a lot of size and quality about him and an easy mover. He has been bought for Robert Ng, and he does come from the further family of Romanised so that was a big help, but he is a lovely individual in his own right.

"He handled himself well through all the proceedings. We will get him home, and our own people will break him in and he will come into the main yard in January."

Romanised, owned by Robert Ng, trained by Condon and also by Holy Roman Emperor, won the Irish 2,000 Guineas (G1) and the Prix Jacques le Marois (G1). He now stands in France at Haras de Bouquetot.

There are 15 lots by Holy Roman Emperor catalogued over this two-day September Sale. (13:45)

He was bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud and sold last year by the farm as a foal. (14:20)

"It is a great result and we are thrilled," said Clodagh Hassett of Monksland. "We are just a small team – just myself and Tom [husband] and the kids, Orla, Maebh and Richie, and my daughter led him up today. "

Of the colt, she said: "He just always did very well, he is a very forward type and he had a very good prep. He was very well behaved in the ring, he has a good attitude and is a lovely loose mover and is an uncomplicated horse; he really is what you look for in a yearling. It is a great result"

Asked what stood out for the family team when they went to €36,000 to buy him last year, without hesitation Hassett said: "We bought the walk – they have to have it from day one, it is not something you can give them."

Since the colt's purchase the family has been active and his half-brother Ancient Times (Exceed And Excel) has enjoyed a good 2022 – he has won twice, finished second twice from five starts. He is now BHA rated 93.

And in addition, Free Step (Muhaarar), this colt's 2019 half-sister, won her first race at the beginning of September.

"People like to see something new on the page, and recent updates alway help," said Hassett. "It is the best result we have had at this sale. he is a grand horse, but you never know what is going to happen until you go up to the ring and come out the far side."

Of the decision to come to sell at this sale, she said: "We thought he might stand out here as a real commercial type, and I think we have justified giving him the money we did as a foal." (15:06)

He is a half-brother to two winners and out of the Green Desert mare Pencarrow. She is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Group 2 placed Tenenbaum (Authorized), and the Listed winner Aischa (GIant's Causeway), the dam of the Group 2 winner Princeipe Adepto

It is the family of Lady Blackfoot, who is the dam of Labeeb, winner of the Hollywood Derby (G1), and the grand-dam of the Sun Chariot Stakes (G1) winner Spinning World.

Today's sale colt was bred by Patricia Casement and Dr Dean Harron. (15:16)

Lot 150, a Nathaniel colt bred by Newsells Park Stud and bought as a foal by JD Moore for 8,000gns at Tattersalls December, makes €75,000, sold by Wood Hall Stables.

Lot 152, a Due Diligence filly, is bought by Joe Foley. She was bred by Gwyn Meredith and was sold last year for €6,000 by Rathasker Stud to Tradewinds Stud, who in turn sold her today for €78,000.

Rathasker purchased the mare Riot Of Colour (Excellent Art) from Car Colston Hall Stud at the 2021 Tattersalls December Breeding Stock Sale for 14,000gns in-foal with this pregnancy.

Riot Of Colour is out of Riotous Applause, a half-sister to four black-type performers, headed by Crowded House, winner of the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy and runner-up in the Pacific Classic (G1). It is also the family of Reckless Abandon, champion European sprinter in 2013. (16:10)

The delighted trainer said: "He is a stand out for us – he has a lovely attitude, he was up here watching everything with his ears, looking around but going forward the whole time. He is a very straightforward horse. He is for John to own, and I will train for him. We will know this time next year if he is value!"

Lavery added: "He is a big horse, but he looks forward enough, but until you put he saddle on their backs and start to canter them you don't know whether they will be early sorts or not."

The March-born colt is out of the Listed winner and Group 3-placed Sciolina (Oratorio), and a brother to the Listed winner Some Respect (Gleneagles), and the recent Group 1 Flying Five Stakes runner-up Erosandpsyche (Sepoy).

He was bred and sold by Mark Dreeling and Barbara Fonzo's Coole House Farm, no strangers to selling highly priced young horses at Flat and NH Tattersalls sales at both Newmarket and Fairyhouse.

"He is going to brilliant trainer – Sheila Lavery is a top-class trainer," said Dreeling. "She loves him, she came to see him four or five times. The Danehill-Footsteps cross is a very successful proven cross which is why we decided on the stallion for the mare – and we are also huge fans of Footsteps, we have been so lucky with him.

"This will help pay the bills and keeps the operation going!"

Dreeling, who owns the Group 1-placed half-sibling Erosandpsyche, updated: "He will run once more this season before being put away for the year. Paddy [Twomey] might step him up to 6f to see if he will handle that before the season is out and there are two Group 3 s to come. We leave it all entirely up to Paddy, he is a genius and absolutely gifted." (17:35)

He is by Inns Of Court, whose first crop are yearlings of 2022 and this is his first yearling colt through the Fairyhouse sale ring.

Inns Of Court is a son of Invincible Spirit. He won the Group 2 Prix du Gros-Chene and was a runner-up in the Prix de la Foret. He stands at Tally-Ho Stud.

Consigned by Mountain View Stud, the bay colt was bought by agent Ed Sackville on behalf of John and Jess Dance's Manor House Farm.

Sackville said: "He is a lovely stamp of a horse and a really big, strong imposing type. I have never seen so many people bid on one horse!

"Inns Of Court is an unproven stallion, but he is by a proven sire of sires in Invincible Spirit. If he is anything like Tally-Ho Stud's recent first-season sires then he is going to have a very good chance of being successful. I would hope we are safe hands.

"He has been bought for John and Jess Dance, they will decide a trainer once the horse has got back to England and they have seen him."

Bred by the Silk Fan Syndicate, the colt is out of Silk Fan (Unfuwain), the winner of three races and placed twice at Listed level. She is dam of seven winners, including Haikbidiac (High Chaparral), Group 3 third in the Prix d'Arenberg.

Silk Fan is a half-sister to Gutaifan (Dark Angel), winner of the Flying Childers Stakes (G2), the Prix Robert Papin (G2) and runner-up in the Prix Morny (G1).

The colt by New Bay, pinhooked for €24,000 by Windlestone Investments, is bought from Tradewinds Stud by agent Alex Elliott, who confirms that he is a "New Bay addict"!

"The sire has been very good to me, this is my favourite horse of the sale," smiled Elliott. "His sister by Make Believe [All Lies Ahead], and so a three-parts sister, won a maiden this year, and bounced into the pedigree.

"I think New Bay is a superior sire and I can't get enough of him. It can be hard to get one by the sire as good looking as this horse, but they all look as though they will run through a brick wall. This is the one I wanted to buy and I think he has a chance of being a good horse."

The colt won't be in Europe for much longer – as soon as the paperwork is ready he is shipping to Australia.

Elliott outlines: "He is for Spicer Thoroughbreds, and will go to Australia. I have been doing business for Brad Spicer for two years, since Covid hit really. He has had a lot of success with European-bred horses, Camelot, Sea The Moons and, hopefully, now this New Bay. This horse will go to George Peckham to quarantine and then will head down.

He added: "Brad is planning to come up in October for Book 1."

The Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale has been good to Elliott, and his graduates have achieved some good results in the sales race, in particular.

"I really like this sale, I have been for the last four years, it has been very lucky for me, " he says. "I bought Stone Circle, who won the sales race in 2019, Star Of Orion, who was beaten by the smallest margin in the race in 2020 and he is now a 100-rated horse, and Dandy Alys who finished third this year.

"That €300,000 incentive is massive – for this sort of horse it is a huge pot to run for, you have got to be rated in the mid-80s to have a fighting chance."

The most expensive of the Elliott-trio was Star Of Orion who cost €50,000 in 2018. (10:51)

The colt was pinhooked by Ballyshannon for 14,000gns at last year's Tattersalls December Sale, bred and sold by Whitsbury Manor Stud.
