The filly was sold by Ladytown Stables having been purchased for 11,500gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale from Hazelwood Bloodstock.

Potts said: "She will go breezing, I thought she was the nicest in the sale, she is really racy looking and athletic. I looked at her while I was viewing the Part I horses. The dam was very smart.

"Hopefully, she will be back and will breeze well. I thought she'd be popular.

"We bought at Eqtidaar in the Somerville Sale, I have liked what I have seen so far by him. They seem to have a bit of quality and strength and precocity, definitely give him a chance."

The filly is out of the Listed placed Rock Of Gibraltar mare L'Ile Aux Loups, a half-sister to the Group 2 winner and multiple Group and Grade 1 placed Loup Breton. (11:01)

She is a first foal out of the young Siyouni mare Ladysiy.

It is the first of three lots due in the ring today from the farm, which sold three through the Part 1 sale for an average price of €36,000 and a top price of €70,000. (11:18)

"John was here this week and saw her, but had to get back to Newmarket, he left instructions with me and was on the phone while I was bidding," said Orlandi. "She has lots of quality, is a precocious, fast-looking and powerful filly.

"When you see the likes of Con Marnane as underbidder it gives you a bit of confidence. She has a great back pedigree, too, and I hope she is lucky for John, he has been having a great season and is restocking with more yearlings."

Sold by Hollyhill Stud for Skymarc Farm, she is the first foal out of the Toronado mare Moondrop, a three-quarters sister to the Lingfield Derby Trial (L) winner Kilimanjaro (High Chaparral).

Her third dam Massarra has produced 12 winners, including the Group 1 winner Nayarra, the Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Gustav Klimt, as well as four further black-type winners .

The fourth dam is the star mare Rafha, dam of Invincible Spirit and Kodiac and grand-dam of Mishriff. (11:42)

"I was surprised to find her here this morning, a good model of a Dark Angel, a racy, athletic filly, I liked her physically," said Foley. "She is out of a good mare, a half-sister to a treble Group 1 winner, and from the deep family of Darshaan. She has lots of residual value, but more importantly she is a lovely, racy filly with a great temperament.

"I had not planned to buy something like her here today, but when I saw her this morning, I had a change of plan!"

Consignor Derek Veitch of Ringfort said: "She has been consigned for a client and she came to us about six-seven weeks ago for her prep. She has done really well and has strengthened through her work, or maybe it is the Ringfort grass? It is lovely for the staff at home.

"It is great to have the sale back at Fairyhouse, and the interest in horses generally has been so high – this sale has been solid all the way through." (12:41)

She cost the new connections €30,000 and was sold by Baroda Stud.

"She is a nice type and looks fast," said Murphy.

The mare is already a proven producer – her 2019 filly by Footstepsinthesand called Terra Del Sole is a winner and Group 2 placed in Italy. (13:19)

She was sold by Patricia Doyle of Ashwood Stud on behalf of a delighted Peter Stone of Cloughmeally Stud.

"We bought the second dam Van De Cappelle from the Ballymacoll Stud dispersal," recalls Stone. "Her 13th foal is by Sioux Nation and he is a cracker, a really strong sort. We retained him and he is in training with Joseph O'Brien – we named him Engines On and he should be running soon.

"It is because he is such a stand out that we sent Art Nouvelle back to Sioux Nation – she'd had some smallish foals and we thought he might help put some size into the foal."

Stone keep six mares at his farm in Redcross and does all the foaling and work until they are due to prep, then Doyle takes over for the last stages ahead of selling.

The breeder added: "We are delighted with that price, Patricia does a brilliant job, they turn inside out." (13:53)

The foal is out of the Beneficial mare Beneficial Choice, a half-sister to the Venetia Williams Emperor's Choice (Flemensfirth), a two-time winner over hurdles, and seven chase winner whose victories included the Welsh National (G3). He was also placed second in the Grand National Trial (G2) at Haydock.

It is the further family of the talented and multiple Grade 1 winner Old Vic, and the Thyestes Chase (G1) winner Siegemaster. (10:30)

He is a half-brother to Haveanothergoflo (Court Cave), a Colin Bowe-trained winner of a Lisronagh maiden point-to-point last year on his sole start and subsequently purchased at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Festival Sale by trainer Donald McCain. (11:11)

The April foal is the second produce out of Its All A Lark (Oscar), a two-time winner over hurdles. She is a half-sister to the Listed bumper winner and Grade 2 Paddy Mullins Mares Hurdle winner Party Central and to Craigneiche (Flemensfirth), a winner of a Grade 3 hurdle and runner-up in the Coral Cup Hurdle (G3) at The Festival.

The Monsun sire Vadamos moved from Tally-Ho Stud to stand at Grange Stud in 2021, and this is his first purposeful-bred NH crop. (11:44)

Suvretta was the winner of a bumper and is a full-sister to the six-year-old Wheres Maud Gone, a two-time bumper winner and placed over hurdles.

The pair are from the family of William Henry, who took the National Spirit Hurdle (G2), the Coral Cup (G2) and the Lanzarote Hurdle (L), and Sesenta, a seven-time winner and a Grade 2 hurdles victor. (12:15)

The fifth foal out of the mare Myblueeyedgirl (Milan) he has a very promising five-year-old half-brother – Notkeepinyagoing (Califet), who was the winner of the September bumper for trainer John McConnell when winning by 13l at Galway. The gelding had previously won his Oldcastle point-to-point by 30l in April for trainer Mark Scallon. Myblueeyedgirl was the winner of a bumper as a five-year-old and she has had two runners so far.

This foal hails from the sire's second crop born since the dual Group 1 winner transferred from Nunnery Stud to stand at the Flood family's Boardsmill Stud for the 2020 season. (12:33)

Lot 202, is a filly is out of the talented mare and multiple graded race winner and placed Pomme Tiepy (Apple Tree). She is the dam of Mortal (King's Theatre), a three-time winner, a Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed over fences.

Lot 203 is a colt and the first foal out of the unraced Stormey What A Gal (Kayf Tara). She is a half-sister to Ronald Pump (Schiaparelli), runner-up in the World Hurdle (G1) and the Hatton's Grace Hurdle (G1), the Leinster National Chase (G1) and the Drinmore Novice Chase (G1).

Old Persian stands at Glenview Stud and is a son of Dubawi. He won two Grade 1 races – the Northern Dancer Turf Stakes and the Dubai Sheema Classic, both races run over 1m4f.

Sixteen lots by the sire are due through the ring here this week. (12:58)

He is out of the talented Listed-winning racemare Poppy Kay, a daughter of Kayf Tara who was bred and raced by Aiden Murphy.

"Poppy Kay was a good mare, she was rated 138," said Eileen and Jimmy Furlong of Thistletown. "She is back in-foal to Walk In The Park, and we wanted to give her every chance to produce a winner. It is a good start for the week – we have five tomorrow and the next day and two for the last day."

The Furlongs have "around 20 mares" at home and offer all the progeny as foals. (13:47)

"He has been bought for a client and will come back to me. I doubt he will see a sale ring until he has done something on the track."

The colt is out of Onefortherose (Doyen), who was placed over hurdles. She is a half-sister to Patricks Park (Insatiable), winner of the Grade 1 Guinness Handicap Chase, the Sandyford Handicap Chase (G2) and placed in the Galway Plate (G1).

It is already another good price for the sire – his gelding out of Tell It To Me (Lot 62), sold by Mill House Stud, topped the yearling session yesterday at €50,000.

The Glenview Stud-based son of Smadoun has 65 foals catalogued this week. (13:56)

The colt is a half-brother to three winners, two of which can boast of winning black-type… Ifyoucatchmenow (Westerner) and Ballyward (Flemensfirth).

Grand-dam Sallie's Girl won ten times, including the Boyen Hurdle (G3) and the Johnstown Novice Hurdle (G3). She was also placed nine times the best result when a runner-up in the Drinmore Chase (G1). (14:38)

The Shirocco gelding has subsequently gone on to win six races, place twice and run nine times. He has picked up over £54,000 in prize funds.

He won on his first start this season – his first outing over fences in a novices limited handicap chase over 2m at Uttoxeter. Despite carrying top-weight off an official mark of 135, he won by a comfortable four and a half lengths having jumped well throughout.

He was sold by Ballincurrig House Stud for breeder Ms Olivia Hegarty of Rock Hall Stables.

"Thunder Rock is a fine horse and was impressive last week," said Murphy. "I think Olly is planning to tip away quietly with him. This foal will come back to me and there are no plans as yet." (15:21)

The colt boasts talented siblings on the Flat and over timber – his half-sister Swipe Up (Holy Roman Emperor) won the Italian 1,000 Guineas (G3) this year, while his Poet's Voice half-sister Rayna's World has been placed in mares' graded races over hurdles. Furthermore, his dam Salmon Rose is a half-sister to the 11-time winner and Dubai World Cup (G1) star, Prince Bishop. (15:54)

Yellowford supremo Frank Motherway ushered daughter Deidre Cashman to report on the sale.

She said: "We bought the mare in 2018 – I think we bought her well as we paid just €8,500. We sold her older foal by Solider Of Fortune here to Timmy Hillman for €39,000 two years ago, and now she has had a good result today – she has done really well for us. She is a lovely big mare, big and strong."

The farm has had plenty of success with the sire, and the son of Montjeu has provided a rich seam for the Motherways. The farm has sold a lot of horses at Tattersalls by Walk In The Park, including three for six-figure sums with a top price of €200,000 given for the three-quarters brother to Hurricane Fly, who was sold at the 2021 Derby Sale.

At this sale in 2020 two Walk In The Park foals consigned by the farm made €100,000.

Cashman added of the decision to use the sire with Chesapeake: "He was fashionable at the time and she is an outcross, and we try and send young mares to proven stallions. She is not in-foal now as she was getting late."

Yellowford has another 26 foals to sell this week (and another six by Walk In The Park) and before they headed for that cup of tea, the team bid us goodbye with the words: "We hope you have reason to come and speak to us again over the next few days!" (17:31)

The colt is the first foal out of the black-type hurdles placed mare Place des Vosgnes (Rip Van Winkle). She is a half-sister to the Group 1 Crtierium de Saint-Cloud runner-up Hannouma and Dominada, a runner-up in the Scottish County Hurdle (L). (10:33)

The Dudgeons sent their good mare Via Delle Volte (Motivator), runner-up in the Junior Fillies' Juvenile Handicap Hurdle (G3) at Cheltenham, to the Hertfordshire Stud to see the son of Galileo, and she produced this colt from her second pregnancy.

Ian Dudgeon, who flew in this morning, said: "We have just the one mare and we bought her out of training from Mr Deer of Oak Grove Stud. We definitely wanted a mare with black-type and she fitted the bill. John Haydon, who used to run Clarendon Farm, advises us and we sent her to Maxios first time and then to Nathaniel.

"We sell them all as foals – I used to train and have 30 acres near Wincanton so it is nice to have a broodmare around the place, but my wife is worried that we will get too many on the place so hence they are sold as foals. We are both now nearer 80 than 70 and she does not want to be mucking out horses!"

It was a first trip to Fairyhouse for Jess Westwood's Molland Ridge Stud, one of two lots offered here this week by the farm.

"Jess has had him since September, she has done a great job," added Dudgeon.

The colt was bought here by Timmy Hillman, who said: "He is fine foal, and by a top-class stallion in Nathaniel, who has also got some good NH runners. There are not many opportunities here this week to buy a colt by him." (11:07)

Both siblings were bred by successful NH breeder John Lightfoot, with this colt sold today by Mill House Stud.

Dam Mathine run over jumps in France and is a Malinas half-sister to the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Long Run (12:08)

The March-born foal boasts a fine immediate family.

He is a full-brother to McFabulous, an eight-time winner and a four-time Grade 2 winner of a bumper and over hurdles. He has also been placed many times at graded level, including in the Aintree Hurdle (G1).

The foal is also a half-brother to Waiting Patiently (Flemensfirth), a six-time winner with the Ascot Chase (G1) amongst those victories. He has also been Grade 1 placed over fences five times.

This is the first of the dam's progeny that has been sold as a foal by breeder Mr Vincent Finn (11:00)

The gelding is trained by Noel Meade, who said after the race: "He has an engine and isn't slow. It might come too soon but the Monksfield Novice Hurdle at Navan [on November 27] is an option."

This foal by the sire is out of Hurricane Linda (Stowaway), an own-sister to the talented and admirable runner Hidden Cyclone, and was sold by Whytemount Stud, which stands Affinisea and also stood Stowaway. The colt was bought by Joey Logan Bloodstock for €40,000. (13:37)

"She has size and scope and is a great mover," said Molony. "I saw her this morning and loved her, she is beautiful and has loads of quality. She has been bought for a partnership, will come back to me and will be resold as a three-year-old."

The filly's dam Catcheragain (Flemensfirth) was Grade 3 third-placed over hurdles and she is her fourth foal.

It is the winning black-type family of the Champion Hurdle (G1) winner Make A Stand, the Grade 1 winners Shattered Love and Irish Cavalier and the Grade 2 chase winner Make A Track. (14:02)

It was a first venture into the sale ring for Future Bloodstock, and two from the bloodstock group, Ross Alberto and David Greenway, are at Fairyhouse to see the sale.

Alberto reflected: "At the time we were surprised we managed to buy the mare, and without her we wouldn't be here today. We have added more since and have got some more to sell tomorrow. It is mixed emotions at the moment – we are delighted to have sold so well and be the 'clubhouse leader' for the moment, but it is sad to see him go, but he made his value and they have to be sold. Let's hope he has a bright future."

Greenway added: "Limini's first foal by Australia has been retained, she is the spit of her mother and we are just breaking her in and she will go into training for us. We race a few mares."

Of the decision to use Nathaniel as the mare's covering sire, they said: "Well, he is one over our side of the Irish Sea, which helps, and COVID stopped us really travelling too far. We are huge fans of the sire, and have supported him well over the last few years – she lost one by him before this foal and is back in-foal to him now."

They concluded: "This foal looks cracking individual, we just hope he goes on, and that the rest we have to sell this week are as popular!" (14:29)

The mare was bought by the consignor for €118,000 here and it is another good result for a foal out of a talented race mare purchased at the Tattersalls November NH Sale.

Loughlin Jnr said: "We bred his dam Posh Trish, sold her as a foal and bought her back here two years ago. We were budgeting €80,000 or €90,000 for her then, but she was coming home and that was it... we loved her. This is her first foal and we are delighted.

"He was a lovely foal from Day 1, he came up here and did everything great, and it is a great price for him. Posh Trish is the quietest mare ever, her temperament is brilliant and her foal's temperament is very good too.

"She is back in-foal to Walk In The Park and is due in February. Walk In The Park is a great sire with Douvan and Min and he had two maiden hurdle winners yesterday, and had a point-to-point winner on the weekend, he keeps doing it."

Of the rest of the week, Loughlin said: "We have six in tomorrow, four colts and two fillies."

The Loughlins also sold Lot 490 to Alan Harte Bloodstock for €57,000, another by Walk In The Park and out of the Alderbrook mare Alleygrove Lass, and Lot 499 for €72,000. The colt foal is out of Hour Before Dawn (Yeats) and by Crystal Ocean. (14:50)

The Fenton family of Hillview were all smiles after the sale – along with a few tears from mother Kathleen.

Son Ken Fenton, formerly of Tattersalls Ireland and now with HRI, was taking time out from the day job to see the colt sell – father David was leading the foal up and busy post-sale with press photographs.

"He is fine big foal, and we are delighted, and he has gone to a shrewd judge and we wish his new owners all the luck," said Fenton Jnr. "Dad bought grand-dam Kilcoleman Lady at this sale in 2002 as a foal and we bred everything out of her – the two black-type runners as well as Chill Time.

"We have retained Chill Time's Robin Des Champs three-year-old and she goes into training with Willie Mullins, and Chill Time is back in-foal to Blue Bresil."

Of the sire, Fenton said: "He came to the Cashman's farm – we are nearby in Fermoy and Dad has always been a big supporter of the farm. He went to see the horse and really liked him and thought he'd suit the mare – and the filly last year was really nice." (16:18)

The colt was bought by Sabrina Harty, and she said: "He has been bought for a client as a store horse and to come back here. He has everything, he is a good size and is very correct. We thought we'd have to pay that sort of figure for him – the way the market has gone you have to buy the dream if you can. Hopefully, he will be lucky as he is for a good client."

The mare has not yet had a runner but has a two-year-old filly by Order Of St George and a yearling by Crystal Ocean.

"She has been to visit good sires before this foal so hopefully one of them can come out and do something," added Harty.

It is a fine pedigree all the way through the generations – Lackaneen Leader is a half-sister to Don't Touch It, winner of the Champion Novices Hurdle (G1) and the Black Hills Handicap Chase (G2).

Under the third dam is Rubissimo, a Grade 2 chase winner in France, while under the fourth dam is the French Listed winner Nifty Nora as well as the Triumph Hurdle (G1) winner Snow Drop, the French Grade 1 winner Lina Drop, the Boyne Hurdle (G2) winner Snow Falcon, as well as the Grade 1 winner L'Ami Serge and the Listed winners La ZIngarella and Holy Joe. Lot 547, from Ballincurrig House Stud, out of the Beat Hollow mare Magical Miss, a half-sister to Mossley, who was a runner-up in the Spa Hurdle (G1), is bought by Oak Tree Farm for €52,000, while Ian Ferguson goes to €50,000 for the colt out of the Presenting mare For A While. The colt was sold by Sunnyhill Stud and is from the farm's leading pedigree of the Gold Cup winner Kicking King, Magic Daze, Kalashnikov and Kalane, (17:33)

He is out of the Authorized mare Harrisburg, a winner over hurdles and a sister to the Gary Moore-trained Grade 2 hurdler Goshen, who so famously fell in the Triumph Hurdle (G1) when looking the likely winner.

The pair are half-siblings to Elimay (Montmemarte), who is a multiple graded race winner over hurdles and fences.

The most expensive by the sire to sell at Tattersalls is Ecrin Vert, purchased by Joey Logan Bloodstock at the Derby Sale in 2021 from Oak Tree Stud. The gelding was the fourth top price at that sale.

Annshoon Stud also sold Lot 581, a colt by Walk In The Park for €47,000. He is a first foal out of the winning Satri mare Dame Anjou. (18:46)
