A son of Shirocco, half-brother to the Grade 3-placed chaser Shanroe Santos and out of a Saddler's Hall mare Jane Hall, who is a half-sister to the European Listed winner Boca Boca, was sold by Ballincard Farm. (10:37)

"We have some four-year-olds at home by the sire and they are nice sorts," said O'Neill. "The sire is going well and the mare had already done it, too."

The gelding's dam Katalina (Hernando), is an own-sister to Cartlitos, Grade 2-placed over hurdles, and a daughter of Queen Of Spades, a Cheltenham Grade 2 chase winner for Nigel Twiston-Davies.

Katalina has already produced the black-type Listed (NH Flat race and hurdles) winner Elle Est Elle (Fame And Glory), who was third in Cheltenham's Champion Bumper (G1). (11:09)

Sold by Oaks Farm Stables the three-year-old is out of La Segnora (Turgeon), winner of the Grade 1 Grand Prix d'Automne Hurdle and a further three black-type jumps races. She was also placed nine times in such races. She is dam of two runners to date. (11:57)

The 17-year-old mare has produced The West Awaits, placed in a Listed novices' hurdle at Punchestown.

It is the further talented family of black-type winners Wrath Of Titans, Thunder And Roses, Shirley Casper and Oligarch Society. The last named ins dam of the Grade 1 chase placed and Grade 2 chase winner Brahma Bull. (12:12)

The gelding's dam Lucy Murphy (Saddler's Hall) is dam of one winner from two runners - Barnaviddaun (Scorpion), winner of a NH Flat race and the Grade 2 Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle.

She is a half-sister to the dam of Mossy Fen (Milan) and from the family of the 15-time winner Sound Man, four-times successful at Grade 1 level. Pairofbrowneyes, Master Of The Hall, The Long Mile and Samcro are all on the pedigree page under the third dam Frankford Run.

The sire's first crop are four-year-olds of this year, and he has already had three winners. The trio includes the two-time winner Hillfinch, who finished third in the Henrietta Knight Mares' NH Flat Race (L) (12:23)

The chestnut gelding is out of a winning Majorien mare Magic Danse, and she is a half-sister to the prolific pair – Anaking, a 12-time winner over jumps in France, wins that included the Gran Corse Siepi di Milano Hurdle (G1), and the 12-time winner Saint Palois (Saint des Saints).He was successful in the Grade 2 Prix Jean stern Chase (G2). The bidding quickly sped up through the ranks with Joey Logan on the balcony by the rostrum and Coolmara Stud opposite, the pair locking horns. In the end both were trumped by O'Leary, who placed just once bid.

"She is for an existing client," said Elliott, who trains her two-time Grade 1-winning half-brother Mighty Potter. "She looks a star, a pick of the sale, hopefully she will be lucky and as a broodmare she has a lot of residual, too. But we will worry about racing first!

"She is more like Mighty Potter than Caldwell Potter, she looks like she will be nice and hopefully she will be lucky!"

Aside from Mighty Potter, the mare is also a half-sister to the Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed French Dynamite and Indiana Jones, a Grade 2-placed son of Blue Bresil.

After the sale, John Bleahen of Lakefield was quite emotional: "She was bought privately from breeder Mr Cottin. He is an extremely nice man, a great breeder, in his 80s and he has retired since.

"She was bought with my brother Niall, we are very lucky to hit on her. Mouse Morris has made a lot of the family, since and it is just wonderful to have such interest in her. She never stopped here and never turned a hair. She was shown by Dermot Clarke, he is just the best showman in the world."

The Bleahen's brothers purchased the filly in 2019, subsequently Mighty Potter, French Dynamite and Indiana Jones have picked up their black-type.

It is the highest price given at the Derby Sale since 2018, the highest-priced filly since 2006 and the second €300,000+ lot sold by Lakefield, the farm having previously sold the Derby Sale 2015 top lot for €320,000.

It is the most given for a NH store horse so far in 2022. (13:25)

It is a second by the sire bought by Jonjo O'Neill this morning – the trainer previously went to €130,000 with Tom Malone for Lot 12.

This horse was bought in association with Stroud Coleman. (14:23)

"We bought here as a foal off Bobby McCarthy, a great breeder," said Johnny Collins of Brown Island. "I had bought Relegate, she won the Cheltenham bumper and I didn't want anyone else to have her, I wanted to sell her as a store! This filly was a queen, and has an amazing temperament. She had a lot of admirers."

Her full-brother Porthill, who finished second on debut in a Fairyhouse point-to-point in April, made £250,000 at a later sale. He was in training with Colin McKeever and is now with Willie Mullins

MV Magnier said: "She is a lovely filly and there are a lot of options for mares nowadays. Flemensfirth has done well with the family – her brother is supposed to be a nice horse. We will get her broken in and decide on plans from there."

In addition to Relegate, the family also includes the black-type winners Funny Times, Mrs Hyde and Better Times Ahead. (15:35)

The stallion's first crop are four-year-olds and he has had six winners, including a Grade 2 hurdler in France. A son of Oasis Dream and a winner of the Prix Dollar (G2) stands at Haras de Cercy for €2,500.

His son, who is a half-brother to four winners, was sold by Rathturtin Stud. (16:08)

The February-born gelding, whose further relations include Sybarite, the Grade 1-placed Gelino Bello and the Cheltenham Festival Grade 1 runner-up Eudipe, was sold by Sluggara Farm. (16:14)

"His dam has already done it, too," he added.

Soif D'Aimer has had two winners, including Saint Pierrot, placed in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil. (17:24)

Sold by Oak Tree Farm, the three-year-old gelding is out of Tahaze (Yeats), who is the dam of one winner from one runner to date. She is a half-sister to Tatenen, runner-up in the Future Champion Juvenile Hurdle (G1) and the Maghull Novices Chase (G1) for Nicholls.

Malone said: "Paul knows the sire well and knows the family well – he said that Tatenen was a very good horse, 150-rated horse, but tough to train. This was a stand-out today and Paul fell in love with him this morning. I only showed him ten and left this one to last (there is method to the madness!) and he said, 'Well this is the one, isn't it?!' He will go to Will Biddick from here and I am delighted to get him."

Malone only had one bid: "I said to Paul he would be somewhere in the middle of €150,000 to €200,000." (18:03)

A delighted Mark Dwyer of Oaks Farm said: "Brendan Holland from Grove Stud bought him as a yearling, and four of us took a leg – Roger Marley, Brendan, myself and Willie Browne. He has turned into a lovely horse, thank god.

"Lots of people seem to have a good horse by Maxios – Gordon has a good horse, Willie has one, Aiden Murphy; they were keen and they played on the back of that. For me this horse is a great advert for the sire, and he has a great mind.

"He is out of a Nathaniel-winning mare and there was also the update with Willie [Mullins's] good horse."

The Grade 1 pedigree update came courtesy of Mullins's good runner – Vauban (Galiway), a grandson of second dam Gifted Icon, who won the Champion 4yo Juvenile Hurdle at Punchestown (G1).

The horse was bought between a trio of Bobby O'Ryan, Aidan O'Brien and Gordon Elliott.

The older O'Ryan said: "He is for an existing owner and he is going to Gordon. I just loved the horse and we have a very good horse by Maxios called The Mediator. This is a gorgeous horse. He was the one I wanted today.

"He has a lovely pedigree and hopefully he won't take a lot of time."

Elliott also trained the first good NH runner by the sire – Quilixios who won the Triumph Hurdle (G1) and the Spring Juvenile Hurdle (G1) for Elliott.

Harold Kirk was today's underbidder. (11:49)

He was bought in partnership between Joey Logan and Ballycrystal Stable's Matthew Flynn O'Connor as a point-to-point prospect.

"I thought he was one of the best Walk In The Parks that I have seen, we bought a lot of them last year and we have been lucky with them. His dam has had three winners from three runners so Matty and myself have bought him together – he was too expensive to buy hm on our own," said Logan, adding: "Matty is going to train him and get him to win a point-to-point and get him sold then. Matty had a great year, he is very good, a very good up-and-coming young trainer."

Of the gelding's price, Logan said: "He cost a lot more than expected, but we have gone for quality and he had been a big punt, but we were in good company."

That company as referenced to by Logan was the gelding's underbidder, Paul Shanahan.

Out of the Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed mare Zuzka (Flemensfirth), the April-born three-year-old was bred by the Parkhill family's Castletown Quarry Stud.

Kenneth Parkhill said: "I always thought this horse was a special horse."

Recalling why he chose Walk In The Park as a mate for Zuzka, he said: "Walk In The Park was the talking horse and results speak for themselves."

"This horse has been no-stop here for three days, in, out, in and out. It has been a lucky family for us over the years."

Zuzka has a colt foal at foot by Jet Away and is currently not in-foal. (12:20)

The early turnover is a touch over €2 million at €2,007,000 with an average price of €62,719 and a median of €51,000. (12:42)

"He is a lovely horse, one of the nicest Walk In The Park in the sale," said Murphy. "I tried on the one earlier and did not get him, it was one of tother. There are no plans are yet."

Michael Fitzpatrick of Kilminfoyle said: "He was a €43,000 foal at the November Sale and I bought him with my dad Eamon, he picked him out. Rai Santos prepped him and Pamela Coogan led him up. Both have been with me a long time.

"I wish the new connections the very best, the sire is a fantastic sire, everybody wants one, and the best is yet to come for him. A lot of people did say this was nicest horse in the sale, which is a very hard thing to do. I often come here thinking I have a nice horse, but when you get here it is not. But it is great when you have the best judges saying the same thing."

The gelding is out of Aulne River (River Mist), the dam of five winners from eight runners, her winners including Wait For Me, who finished third in the Champion Bumper in 2015. (13:13)

The grey gelding is from the stud's long-curated family of Briar Hill, Jazzaway and Boston Bob. (14:02)

The gelding is out of Blodge (Kalanisi), dam of the Grade 3 winner Impervious and a daughter of Bilboa, a Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed over hurdles. It is also the family of Makounji and Roulez Cool. He was bought by Tom Malone and Paul Nicholls. (15:33)

"He is for Mike Grech," said Knight. "I have seen the horse a lot before today. I always love the horses that Walter buys as foals in France and I love seeing them growing up in the fields. He never tells me what they are by, I take a few photographs and I have a photo of this horse as a two-year-old as i picked him out, I loved him.

"He is a gorgeous horse, he is such an athlete, I love his action. He is a real racehorse, on his pedigree he could win on the Flat and over jumps, he is just the all-rounder a lovely, lovely horse," said Knight. "I love Authorized and I have bought I Am Maximus for Mike, he is by Authorized.

"This horse will come to me in England and when ready will go to Willie Mullins," added Knight.

Connors explained his reasoning behind the lack of information given last year to Knight.

"It was a need to know basis at that stage, I told her which was which when the catalogue came out. She saw him in the field loose, and liked him ever since as did we. Seamus Murphy buys a lot of my foals and he did the job for me. I need to thank him. Authorized has been lucky for us and we have had a few of them over the years.

Accompanying his agent to the Derby Sale, the gelding's new owner Grech said: "Hen has been very very keen on this horse throughout the last seven to 14 days, we knew that we needed to be brave today, and we have shown a lot of courage today. I am very pleased that we managed to purchase this horse, there was huge competition. He is by a great great sire, has a great pedigree, the way he moves, he just looks a racehorse. Willie loves this sire and we believe that he will do a great job with this horse."

Of his visit to Tattersalls and Ireland, Grech made some interesting comments regarding future plans: "Incredible, and I am impressed with Ireland altogether. The Irish set-up is very, very much on my mind, in terms of spending a little bit more time in Ireland. Some decisions are going to be made around that during the course of the off season, so you will probably see an awful lot more of me in Ireland."

Of this year's Derby Sale, Knight said: "There are some lovely horses here, there usually are, and you know how much I like Tattersalls. I am no stranger to Tattersalls, I have not been disappointed this year and the hospitality is fantastic." (15:56)

Named Jeu De Pic, the gelding was sold by Brook Lodge Stud, who purchased him for €26,000 as a two-year-old.

Racinger (Spectrum) retired to stud in 2010 and now stands at Haras de Vains in France. His leading performer to date is Farouk D'alene, a Grade 2 winner in February and trained by Gordon Elliott. (16:38)

He is a first foal out of Dreambaby (Yeats), pinhooked by Summerhill for €95,000 and sold today by Norman Williamson's Oak Tree Farm.

"He is another gorgeous horse, and I am a big fan of Getaway," said Knight. "He has been beautifully prepared and comes from a wonderful female line. I have not had anything from the line before."

Dreambaby is a daughter of Monumental, the dam of Rhinestone Cowboy, Wichita Lineman and grand-dam of Dunhallow Gesture, Me And Ben and Coney island. (17:00)

The gelding is out of the Gamut mare Face The Picture who was unraced but is a half-sister to Vics Canvas (Old Vic), winner at Grade 3 level over hurdles and placed second in a Grade 3 chase and third in the Grand National Chase (G3)
